FlorkThe 10mm SIG 220ST Project
We are doing more runs of the 10mm after this one. Email me if you're interested in getting on the 2nd run.

mark123Mr. Flork, can you tell us the total number of 10mm conversions requested so far? Or maybe the total number of 10mm conversion in the first run? Or at least is it more than 8?

Also, about the basic package, I do not want the stainless guide rod and I do not want the dehorn, detail and blend on the slide. Are they necessary items?

FlorkEach run consists of 20 guns.
The second run list is full +2 on the reserve list at this point. We always get drop outs at the last minute.
I'll be starting the third list as soon as I get more requests.
Nope, those items are not necessary, If you request they be left out, we will remove them.

Jimmy NewmanI may have missed it somewhere in this thread (I didn't make it through the whole 27 pages), but I have a few questions about the conversion if you folks wouldn't mind answering.
I would love to have a 10mm P220ST, but have some concerns based on the level of custom work. If, 15 years down the line, you guys have moved on from the 10mm conversion project, how hard would it be to get someone to make replacements for the custom parts like the extractor, magazines, slide catch lever and mag release?
Thanks,
Jimmy

FlorkAs long as we're still in business or available to the gun industry at all, we will make parts available.
I can't say for sure what the future will hold, but I'm sure if we aren't around to supply parts, somebody else will be.

if Grayguns goes out of business, the collector value of their 10mm conversion would take a dramatic upward jump.

Il CattivoWell, yes, but the point is to be able to shoot it, no? And the caliber has developed a reputation for accelerated wear in other pistols used with the heavier loads. Bruce has made it clear the conversion is primarily for use with midrange loads, but sooner or later (like years down the road) the heavier loads will probably add up, even at reasonable rates of use.

sig228-gsrI have no doubt that Grayguns will be around as long as guns are for sale somewhere in the world. I have a 10mm in the first batch, I've met Bruce and Scott at one of their classes and at Shot Show 2008. I know that they will support these guns for as long as they are alive and shooting. Heck, Scott and Torri will outlast most of us on this board by decades.... I wouldn't be surprised in the next few years that demand will cause a several year wait for one....

Unless SIG sees that people are willing to pay 2.5x for this sort of thing and decide to get a piece of the action and flood the market. I almost said that without laughing.

Ordnance OutsellMark, you can bet that Sig is tracking surge in 220ST Elite sales, although they wouldn't know how many are going to Bruce, they could make a somewhat educated guess! However, 30 conversions so far, probably insufficient to garner much attention.....yet!
May 06, 2008, 09:47 AM
Ordnance OutsellMark, fair number of customers have bought specifically to do this! The pace may well pick up, as completed guns are getting back in the hands of customers who will report!
May 06, 2008, 10:44 AM
FlorkThe first complete gun will be delivered at the end of this month and others are going to follow shortly.
I've got parts of another 10mm out at a nickel plater, that gun will be delivered as soon as those parts come back.

herbie220Will this be strictly for the internal extractors, or will the conversion also work on the new external extractors. I am in on the second run of guns, and I was just curious. Herbie
May 08, 2008, 08:55 PM
FlorkYes, we'll be able to convert the external extractor guns.

drvinkI have a confession......
Lately, I have been checking this thread about 10 times per day hoping to find any new post. Since GGI is converting my P220 to 10mm goodness, the anticipation is killing me! I understand the silence from GGI, they are busy (we hope) like Santa and the elves before Christmas.
Anybody else out there as desperate as I am or am I the lone NUT??????
May 17, 2008, 12:15 PM
Gary1911A1No, I too check this thread almost daily as well as my Email for a message from Gray Guns for notice they are ready for me to ship my Sig.

NorfolkP229Yep....eagerly waiting here as well!!!

Do you have to send a payment to get on the list?
May 19, 2008, 12:12 PM
FlorkNo, the waiting list is free.
We ask you to send a deposit of $350 when you send in your gun.
The rest is payable when the gun is finished.
