Not sure about this as I've heard a 1911 trigger can easily be swapped in for those that want either a longer or shorter reach one.

Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club!

Hopefully someone at SHOT can clarify what discrepancy (if any) exists between the DWX and the 1911 in terms of the trigger mechanism + parts. I will definitely pick up a Compact non-rail model once my LGS has one in stock next year.

Same goes for the B&T USW-P Compact!

Yup, interested in the no-rail Compact.

1911 trigger bow is only wide enough for a single stack .45 ACP magazine. Fitting a double stack 9mm magazine through a normal trigger bow might be an issue, unless the magazine tapers early enough. I wouldn't count on interchangeability, but the aftermarket should take care of it in due time.

I’m interested, in the compact. Will have to try one in hand first. I have a shadow target 2 that I love the grip feel and shape. Double action Trigger reach with my short fingers not so much. I planned to get one when originally announced, ended up with a staccato p. Like it but may swap to a c2 grip.

I am with you. Planning on waiting for the Compact.
I suspect my hands are smaller than yours. Doing a CGW complete makeover on PCR, P-01, and BD made the double action reaches no longer any issue at all.
P.S.
Love your location signature.

I used to think spending 2 grand on a handgun was flat out nuts. Then I started shooting Skeet and now consider any firearm under 5000 dollars a potential bargain.

That said I find the slimness of a 1911 and it's narrow grip to fit my had like a glove, so this one is of no interest at all for me. I have a fat grip Sig P229 Elite Stainless and it doesn't get shot very often because I have to sidesaddle the grip and it's so smooth shooting I find it a bit boring.

I've stopped counting.

Have you ever gripped a Shadow 2? Depending on grips it's one of the slimmest double stack guns out there.

Does DW even plan on starting production of Compact DWX any time soon? I do not see any news about this. It looked very interesting in 2019. I am happy with P-01, but compact DWX looks interesting, indeed.

Depends on how you define soon...Next couple months, not so much. 2023...probably.

I knew we could count on you to be the first SF member to own a DWX. Big Grin

Let us know how it compares to your Phoenixes.

I'm more interested to see how a top production built gun compares to the old Sig Mastershop.

If it compares well to a Phoenix or Mastershop gun, then it will be the deal of the century. My expectations aren’t quite that high, but I think it will still be very impressive.

I love the way it looks and it should shoot lights out.

I saw one in person at an out of state gun shop this week. They wanted $2k for it, which is hurtful. Very nice looking gun...I wanted to ask to handle it, but they were busy and I knew I wasn't buying so I didn't feel right wasting their time.
