Sigh! Takes me back to the days of my misspent youth. In the early days of the Seventies everybody wanted a M29 .44 Mag Dirty Harry gun. Me too. However none were to be had by mere mortals such as myself. Consequently, I ended up with a S&W M57 6" .41 Mag. Beautiful.

Dead nuts accurate. Knew a lot of farmers who gave me permission to shoot woodchucks on their property. Consistent hits at 50-yards using factory 210 JSP. That was quite a while back, when I was young, handsome and had a full head of hair. Smile Life was beautiful.

Thanks for showing it off.

Some people wonder why those of us who had such revolvers still consider almost everything else to be ugly (namin’ no names, mind you Wink ).

I still have my Mod. 29 blue with a 4" bbl. I purchased it in the early '70s in the original wooden box. The finish on these guns is just awesome!!

The OP has to be very proud and happy.

Yeah. Back then the top of the line Smith's and Pythons had incredible blue jobs. As the saying went: "So deep you could fall into it."

I still wax nostalgic for high polish blue. Sure, not as durable as modern finishes or SS. Sure, more expensive. Sure, showed holster wear (In my vocabulary - "patina"). While the firearms industry has made many worthwhile notable advances, beauty has not been one of them.

Assume those are KB's. Did it come with them or did you purchase and install?

Pizza Bob-

I have a small stash of them. All my S&W revolvers have Keith Brown's Ropers on them.
These on my Model 27-2:

And on a Bowen .45 Colt Conversion of a Model 28-2:

I guess you're feeling lucky? Do you, punk?!

Great looking piece.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
