A question about selling collectibles. I talked to an experienced gun store manager I trust, and asked him if GunBroker was a good place to sell some collectibles. He said Guns International was better for collectibles, as the guns were generally more expensive with higher prices than GunBroker. Is this your guy's experience ? Any advice appreciated. As much as I despise GB, Guns International is no match for them. Q

I've bought a few on GunsInternational. No fees or tax for the buyer. Not sure the deal for sellers.

As another note, Gunbroker is a form of social media. There's well known dealer with "followings", more people see their sales, and they always sell for more. People will consign with them to list sell their stuff for them. They get a commission for sure, but the higher prices make up for it. Like going with a big name auction house. Honestly though, if you're selling, it doesn't really matter. Take note of the GB final value fee, set your price and list it. It sells or it doesn't.

Selfishly, I'd like to say "post your stuff on the various forums, named after the guns" for us collectors. Gunbroker will get you a bit more money, better even if you give your guns to one of the top sellers for commission. That said, with the recent tax collection, "fees" and such, some buyers are gravitating outward to other sites. I've had great experiences with Guns International, making phone calls to the seller, talking bit and making deal. You can even make offers, etc. unlike Gunbroker where it's sort of strict auction style. I'll be giving my preference to GI from here on but, GB is the current money house.
