Not a big fan of springfield but if this gun works better than a 365, I might consider it. ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

I wonder if Croatian parts are better than Indian parts.

That Croation factory is top notch. Maybe someone can run a P365 side by side with this new Springfield and see which one chokes first. Any YouTube gun channels review this new pistol yet? ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

Stop Talking, Start Doing |
I just got the email from SA about this, which led me to the SA website, where I just spent five minutes reading about this thing. Which led me here, hoping I’d see a thread about it. I’ll probably need to buy this — looks like a great pistol. I’m a big SA fan (yea, yea). _______________ Mind. Over. Matter.

My very first pistol purchase in 2006 was a Springfield XD-9 and it was a really nice gun. I like this!

Oooooohhhh, I want one! The XD's have always been excellent pistols with very few issues - in STARK contrast to it's competition. I'll be buying one of these as soon as I'm able....... Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................

XD's always ran for me when I shot them and I shot them very well despite my lack of preference for their ergonomics. I'm not in the market but I am glad they are coming out with another platform. The more the merrier. 0:01

Wonder if there will be a patent infringement issue? If it runs well it will probably be a big seller. I'll probably pick one up. The XDS has run well for me in .45 and 9X19. This looks like it's a crunched down XDs. The XDs has a spongy trigger that could be better, but otherwise, works great. I didn't care for the sights so much, or the goofy magazine and magazine bases, especially the little slippy filler block that slid up and down the magazine, had sharp edges, and that could get turned around. I have 3" and 4" pistols; I like them both, but each is capacity-limited. This new pistol, if works as advertised, will generate a lot of attention.

Was in a meeting about this gun all morning. I'm sold. I'm impressed that they went with melonite on the metal bits, and the grip texture design is definitely intriguing.

Same here. XD and XDm are the pistols I shoot the best. I don't own any anymore and I like what I have now so I'll pass. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

The guy behind the guy |
Looks interesting. I’ll be curious to see the grip texture. They went right after sig on the reliability issue and the non proprietary rail. I’m not a “Springfield guy,” but I’m looking forward to renting one and trying it.

^^^^^^^^^ IIRC, SIG patented their magazine on the P365. If you watch the SAI video, they claim they have patented their 11 round magazine so that issue appears to be moot. SAI also takes a thinly veiled swing at SIG, IMO, when they state they would never sacrifice reliability for capacity. I’m interested. It will be fascinating to watch real world testing of the Hellcat vs. the P365. __________________________

Sigs patents are marketing. No way you can patent a magazine shape or contour. ----------------------------------------------------------- TCB all the time...
