Should I switch my optics on two of my Glocks?
I have been seriously contemplating switching my Holosun 508t from my duty gun, a Glock 45 gen 5. It has been cut for the 508t. I am thinking of switching the 508t to my gen 6 19, which has a Holosun 407c. Both Holosuns are green. I have the CHPWS shim for the gen 6 19.

So, the switch would be seamless as the cut on the G45 for the 508t works for the 407c. The shim for the gen 6 19 works for the 508t. I would have to re-zero both sights, which is holding me back.

My issued gun is my G45 but I am in plainclothes and always carry my gen 6 19. There is nothing wrong with either sight. They both work great. But, since I carry the gen6 19 all the time my thought is to carry the best sight, which IMO is the 508t. I don't anticipate being transferred back to uniform before retirement but anything is possible.

I just thought I'd ask for opinions here on switching these sight. I'm 50/50. It doesn't have to be done. Everything works great and does the job. I just like the 508t the best. I'm stuck wondering if it's worth all the effort.

TIA

Is there something wrong with re-zeroing? Something about it you're averse to?

No, I guess I see it as a bit of a pain. I keep going back and forth because its not necessary to switch them. I am just curious what others think about the issue. Leave it be, or change em?

If you carry the G19 for work as a detective and the 507t is your preferred optic, move it, then get it re-zero to the G19.

AI says:

Which one should you choose?Choose the Holosun 407C if you want a reliable, no-frills pistol dot for concealed carry and want to save some money.Choose the Holosun 508T if you demand maximum durability (duty/tactical use) or strongly prefer the versatility of a circle-dot reticle.

I don’t personally appreciate the benefit of open emitter vs. closed emitter. If it were mine, I’d leave well enough alone.

I have the Holosun SCS direct mount on my Gen 5 G19. No plate needed!

Thank you for the responses. I'm still on the fence but leaning towards the leave well enough alone.
