Hello, I have a new Gen 4 G22 in 40 cal. I need a new trigger, new sights and extended controls. Is there a specific sight that is best for all that , that is a 1 stop shop. I usually use brownells. maybe midway??
I am looking for a trigger that is NOT super light but breaks pretty clean, IDK what poundage, maybe 3-5 or so? I am new to some of this.

thanks, shawn

you might want to look at www.theglockstore.com. It has lots of different parts that you ight be interested in. I installed a "skimmer" trigger in my G19 and it is about 3.5#. I have purchased larger slide release levers and mag releases for some people in my agency.

Congrats on your new Glock!

The G22 is just about the most versatile firearm made. I have usually shopped around and waited for stuff to go on sale. Caliber conversions are a cinch and magazines are plentiful. Post up some pictures when you are done when you can.

I put Polydat triggers in my Glocks.
I troll Amazon for night sight deals.
JohnnyGlocks, Glockmeister, and Squirreldaddy for other stuff.

A few things-

Replacing the trigger with an aftermarket replacement will often get you a little smoother, and slightly lighter. To drop the poundage significantly into the 3-5 range you’ll have to change out the connector with one rated around that poundage. There are tons of triggers and trigger bars to choose from. I prefer the standard Glock trigger and trigger bar with the Ghost Rocket 3.5 connector.

As far as sights go, tons of choices there too. I have found the Taran Tactical fiber optic sights zero pretty easily. For night sights, the Trijicon HDs are my clear choice. Just be advised that the hit about 2 inches high at 25 yards.

I myself am not a fan of any of those things. Proceed with caution. The forums are full of stories of guns that worked perfectly as stock then started acting up with “improved” aftermarket part installs.

Agree that what you're probably looking for is a different connector, not trigger / trigger bar. A number of choices but I've settled on the Ghost Edge. I also have a Taran connector but jury is still out for me. There are other connectors that may provide better results but typically require some field adjustments (filing/trimming the part). The Edge is a drop-in replacement - may not be the best but good enough for me. If you want to lighten the trigger, you can get a stronger trigger spring. I've never tried that though.

Sights are plentiful. I agree with Trijicon HD / HD XR (I now use the latter). I also have a Warren fiber optic that works well but the plain rear was a pain to install (very tight fit). Trij, Ameriglo and others offer FO sights as well. Seem good but never tried.

I keep the controls stock. Not ideal but not enough reason to change.

I concur with the Ghost Rocket 3.5 connector. I’ve used it & Zev triggers in my Gen4. My Gen5’s remain stock.

I recently picked up a Continuous Precision trigger and an optic-height sights set. I was impressed with how well they work.

My glock 22 gen 4 has trugo tfx sights ( recently added, begorenthat it had meprolight night sights ) and the glock 3,5 connector

Apart from that it is stock

Same goes for my 21.4

17.4 has factory night sights and 3,5 connector

The 19 and 26 have seen the most changes with apex action enhancement kit and night fision sights.

The factory - connector ( = 3,5 ) is perfect for the job and I notice little to no difference with other connector in the same range

As far as sights go : if you want night sights I would recommend the night fision ones.

Of all the night sights i have used on all my guns , these are by far the brightest at night.

If you want something that works well in day and night time and you do not mind the fact that they are slightly bigger ( longer ) the truglo tfx are real all round sight and especialy outdoor or wth enough light the fiber optics are very bright

Congrats on the Glock, as the others said, you need to do a connector and trigger together for the best result.

I've had good luck with the ghost 3.5 connector and trigger bar, if you have a good gun smith near by that knows these parts let them fit it for you for a crisp clean result.

Right now Sheedy Ern Ern has sales on magazines, the best thing you can buy for it will be magazines. I like to have 5 minimum 10 optimally for each firearm

All of my Glocks and Plocks have APEX triggers and OEM minus connectors. APEX triggers use OEM trigger bars and eliminate the trigger safely from protruding when fully depressed. If it is available, I add a Crux Ord mag release and Ameriglo Bold or Trigi HDs. I don't prefer extended controls as my thumb tends to ride the slide release and that extension always pushes up and lock the slide in between rounds. This combo for me is solid and the same across every Glock. Hope this helps.

Do the 25 cent polish on youtube. You don't wand a light trigger for SD. You can get about 5 pounds and a crisp break with the polish job.

Use a small piece of wood with Flits..forget the q tip

I have a glock 22(gen 3). I put an Apex trigger kit in it and Ameriglo(Pro IDot/Orange front post) sights on it.

I also put the Apex kit on my S&W Shield(Gen 1) and I have not had any problems and the triggers are way better than what both pistols came with.

Now I am a fan of extended controls and I like the Ghost Bullet slide release which I have on the G 22, and I forget which extended mag release I have but I have one on there.

All good upgrades in my opinion.

I put a flat faced trigger from Overwatch Tactical in both my Glocks. That and polishing the trigger bar contact points and connector surface gave me a very nice and predictable trigger break. I think it comes in at arounf 5.5# with almost no creep. I discovered Truglo TFX Pro Tritium and Fiber Optic Xtreme Handgun Sights for Glock. The combination of fiber optic and tritium make these sights pop day or night.

I have like 4 pairs of the night fision sights. They are very bright, have a good assortment of colors, rear sight shapes U or Notch, and lower profile and cheaper than the trijicon HD’s. I’d probably clean it and lube it and shoot it a bit and let it break in a bit before changing out trigger parts. Somehow my last glock came with the smooth trigger and just swapped out the assembly with the serrated one. Also did the 25cent trigger job and polished the metal mating surfaces lightly with some flitz. Particularly the trigger bar “hump”, mine had a slight raised “edge” on it on one side. Probably from when the part was stamped out. Took that edge off and it with the polishing dremel and got rid of the trigger creep.
