I just saw this advertised this morning. I have 2 Brownings and don't need another, but I sure like nickel.

Turkish stuff should have an asterisk next to it Smile

Even if I liked the Hi-Power, I wouldn’t take that for free.

I've seen some quality guns come out of Turkey. I have a couple of Girsans I play with, very high quality for the price. Winchester is making shotguns in Turkey, and the fit and finish appears equal to the American made ones, Canik is taking a market share as well. I know little about this one, but I wouldn't discount it out of hand as originals are in the 2k range and the last FN I saw was about 1k. I'm reserving judgement until I see some quality reviews, but keeping an open mind.

I would take that gun for free in a heartbeat, might not trust it for self defense until after shooting a few hundred rounds but would probably make a good range gun. All the Turkish guns being imported seem to be good quality reliable firearms at an affordable price at less than 400 bucks might be worth taking a risk.

Go for it. It’s not a bad looking gun. Of course, all the Turks do is copy everything and use near slave labor and cheap parts/finishes to keep costs down.

I have owned a couple Turkish handguns many years ago when they first started producing them. It was mainly a curiosity. They worked well enough from what I remember. The whole trend for them lately is just a major turn-off for me. I do know they fill a niche.

I'd go for it, have two Tisas's, one a pre production 1911A1, the other a bobtail 4 inch with Novak sights, cleaned then good when i got them, oiled them, and they've ran 100%. Ive gotten lemons before, Colt,Sig,a couple of really bad Remington's, bought a Norinco .45 when everyone was bad mouthing them (Turned into a match pistol)so low price doesn't bother me

Does anyone know the backstory on the Inglis markings? Weren't the Tisas's being imported by EAA?

I would really like to get a Hi-power clone. I just don't know if the Tisas or Springfield Armory provides the better bang for the buck.

I was an avid HP guy back when Novak's was doing the Brownings, but those days are nearly 40 years behind me. They did a couple of guns for me, and they were great (one was a Colt Double-Eagle which we called the Double-Turkey).

But Tisas seem to be good, well-made guns and I'm getting a slight itch for another 45acp in a 1911. Colts, and all the WW2 era GI ones, are my favorites, but they are just so expensive now that I can't make myself pull the trigger. A nice,"right" GI 45-some sellers are asking prices like 3500 bucks. A Tisas copy-from a bit over $300 to maybe $600 from Bud's or PSA (I've found no other place in their price range to buy new guns so they are my go-to place for new firearms.

The current commercial 45s-I don't know, maybe they just bore me. I still recall, back in the 80s and maybe even into the 90s, when one bought a new Colt 1911 for IPSC, one might as well go right from the LGS to the gunsmith to get it to work right. At least that was my experience and seemed to be much the same for others.

But I have been thinking of maybe a Tisas 1911. I had a wonderful Canik earlier this year. Great shooter, worked perfectly but I just had no real niche in my life for that particular gun so....

I guess we'll see what life (and the LGS or Bud's/PSA) brings me.

sold a handful of SA-35's and not one had an issues, (sold new, and used)

the early Tisas Hi Power were nicely built, and one I picked up and sold to a friend had issues, he sent it somewhere, got it running and still has it,

sold another guy a new Inglis a month or so ago, but have not heard a range report yet,
