Regarding the Dawson FO, what height to replace a #8 front sight?
I am thinking .220, I would use this with the bar dot rear blacked out.
I used 0.160" tall in combination with a blacked out factory bar rear.
Did you have a #8 front? Was this a .40 or 9mm?
Yes, I had a #8 front. It is a 9mm.

1KPerDayIf you're doing calculations remember SIG measures the entire sight including the dovetail. Dawson measures from the slide to the top of the sight.

1KPerDayFWIW I checked my records. P226 9mm, I used .215" Tall x .130" Wide Ramped Serrated with the factory rear.
Spot on for me.

Thanks, that is where I was having issues.
From the slide mine .156, so .160 for me. I think I will try a .125 wide for more space.

gundog55Recently put the Dawson .115 fiber optic front sight on my P226 leaving the original night sight rear on. What a difference for my older eyes. Will be putting Dawson fiber optic on my other pistols as well.
