Kryptek finish on 220 Hunter Models Login/Join

Hello,

I like the kryptek finish on the p220 Hunter models. I have no intention of buying a SA p220. Not my thing.

Does anyone know who does the finish for the Hunter models ? I would imagine its an outside applicator.

I would like to see if its possible to turn an ordinary DA/SA p220 into something that looks very similar to the Hunter model.

Thanks

I have heard that the finish does not hold up. but havent seen any pictures of the evidence. Not a fan of the look but I am guessing you could get it hydro dipped

You may be able to covert it to DA/SA depending on how the frames are milled.

Honestly, for what the Hunter is, along with the rest of the P220 10mm Elite line. I really think that SAO is the way to go on this model.

I plan on carrying mine along during Deer season and a SAO trigger is great.

I think the Kryptek camo looks good in general but I also think that it looks silly on the P220 Hunter. Just my opinion.

I guess I could have been more specific. For pure hunting purposes a SA p220 in 10mm is probably the way to go.

I am not interested in handgun hunting. I want my ordinary DA/SA .45 p220 to have the same Kryptek finish the hunter model has, because I dig the look.

I am looking to find out what applicator Sig uses for that finish. I need to find out if refinishing my p220 in Kryptek is (a) possible and (b) prohibitively expensive.

No clue what or who does the finish but, it doesn't hold up well. I've handled a couple that after some range time, woods time and various cleanings, that finish was starting to peel off in the high friction areas. Literally peeling off and leaving little pieces of the rubber like material along the slide rails, the metal contact area of the takedown lever and around the sharp edges.

I'm a huge fan of the P220 10's and have the two tone DA/SA as my woods gun. I looked hard at making the SA Kryptek model mine but that finish was a fail in my opinion.
