Sig 1911
I think I read somewhere long ago that some of the early Sig 1911's slides and frames were made by an outside vendor. Is there any truth to it and were they any better? When did Sig start making a 1911? Thanks in advance.

it is true, I have a very early production GSR and in my opinion its is high quality but I can't remember where frame and slide came from.

If I remember correctly, the early GSR frames were made by Caspian.
Some of them had misaligned holes for the trigger pin.
