Got a chance Saturday to get the new Glock out and shoot it. I decided that I'd take my Kahr along with to see how it compares.
Not the best day to shoot but I needed to get out and Sunday was horrible with the wind storm.
Both pistols were fed Blazer Brass 115 gr 9mm. I picked up another case Friday before work so I knew I'd have enough and not dig into my cache.
No pictures and I know people would like it but it's a pain anymore to post them.
First up was the Glock. First magazine impressions were great. It's a Glock, what can I say. Think single stack G19. Trigger is all Glock as are the stock sights.
I had no problems at 10 yards ringing steel with every shot. Set up I was shooting has 4 steel plates varying in size with the smallest one being about 4 inches in diameter.
The grip feels good and I prefer smaller grips personally. Due to my finger injury, I have to be picky with handguns.
I then ran 100 more rounds through the Glock with no issues. Ejection was fine and not one brass to face occurred.
Then it was time for the Kahr. I'm not gonna lie and say I don't love this little pistol. I've had it for like 2-3 years and it's my deep Summer EDC. It's small, disappears easily and it's nice.
Trigger definitely goes to the Kahr here. It's a striker fired pistol but it's a longer pull and reset. How does it rate a better trigger than the Glock? Because it's butter smooth. No sponge take up like the Glock. Smooth all the way through.
Ran 100 through the Kahr and no issues either. It does have around 800-900 rounds through it so it's broken in.
Magazine capacity goes to the Glock. The 10 round magazines are better than Kahr's offerings. Not by much but you can carry more rounds.
Size goes to the Kahr but then again, it's a different class of pistol IMO. I have a holster being made for the 48 and I'm sure I'll be able to conceal it easily.
Sights go to the Kahr. The Kahr came with Tru Dots whereas the Glock is stock. Do I mind Glocks stock offering? Not really but I do know there are better sights for the Glock available. I'll change them out probably. If I don't, it's not a deal breaker to me.
Both are winners to me and I have time to shoot the Glock more before hot weather gets here.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

Pretty good.
I've been having a good time shooting my G48. Various ammo from 115 fmj and HP's up to 147 fmj and hp. (around 300 rounds through it now) At ranges from 7 to 100 yards, it does fine. I did put an iDot front night sight on the 48 from a G19 gen 4. POA is pretty much on at 7-10 yards.
I am hoping some company comes along with a good OWB holster for it.

Joatmonv,
Thanks for this review! I have been looking forward to it, because I too love my K9 Elite, but am enamored by the G43 simplicity and size.
If you had to guess, do you suppose the K9 would be / was more accurate? I have found my K9's in slow fire to be prodoundly accurate, which I just can't match with the G43 (or any Glock) probably because of the trigger.
With different sights on the Glock, and perhaps with a different connector, and maybe comparing a G43X to a K9 (size and barrel lengths about the same), I am guessing you would prefer still the K9 because of that fantastic trigger?
Your review much appreciated. I look forward to your continuing to post impressions of the two over time. In Maryland, we can't get the G48 yet. I am planning on getting one then, and making my own G43X.

Scott, the Kahr was more accurate. Couple reasons why to me.
First is the sight comparison. Tru Dots on the Kahr vs stock Glock sights. Second is the trigger. The Kahr definitely has a longer pull than the Glock but it's so smooth that it's easy to shoot. Not that the Glock isn't easy to shoot but there's a difference.
I still have months before July/August heat hits so I have plenty of time to shoot both pistols more.
The Kahr is going to hard to beat just because it carries so well in deep Summer. The only thing lacking with the Kahr is magazine capacity.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.
