No overtravel screw. I elected to keep the stock trigger(bow) as I didn't think I'd like the feel of the adjustment hole in the face of the trigger. That probably would've been mostly in my head, but I really liked the feel of the stock trigger(bow) and decided not to install (or even purchase!) the adjustable trigger. I also never installed the lighter 'Firing Pin Block Spring' either, and left the stock one in place. I didn't see a huge benefit in replacing that one, and didn't feel the need to inspect the Firing Pin anyway (my USP had been shot VERY little!), otherwise I would've installed it at that time.

My USP was originally a DAO (Variant 7), purchased used and was basically ANIB. I presume the previous owner shot it once, decided the Trigger SUCKED and that it had to go! I saw it for what it was (to me anyway!)...An early 'KE' 1994 Pistol (pre-Polygonal Rifling) w/o the 'pat pending' marking on the one side of the Pistol Grip and the more desirable HK USP marking on both, as well as a great foundation for my custom build Combat Competition w/ the Match-LEM Hybrid Trigger!

My Match-LEM Hybrid setup combines the Match Trigger w/ the Light LEM Trigger, excluding the above components I opted not to install/replace as I felt there was no real substantial benefit to doing so. Additionally, in order to 'assemble' all of the required parts, I purchased the LEM kit and then acquired the all of the Match Trigger components separately, àla carte from HK. As such, not purchasing the Match Trigger (w/ adjustable overtravel) was simply a cost savings.

Regarding the sights, I did purchase Competition Fiber Optic Sights from Dawson Precision; a Fixed Serrated Rear & a Serrated Front. The pic I posted was taken right after I installed Match-LEM Trigger and the Jet Funnel, but prior to installing the new sights to complete my Combat Competition.

It's a GREAT Pistol, and the reset is INCREDIBLE...I'm quite happy with the result! Wink

My Combat Competition came factory as a LEM. I don't know if that is normal or not. I have an Expert 45 that I recently left all the Match parts and trigger in but converted to LEM.

Match LEM is sweeeeet. Plus Dawson front sight, mucho better.

I agree. They are way too big for anything other than having fun at the range. The decocker is a little wonky and not easy to use. It's like holding a brick in your hand compared to other models. They are getting more expensive and the prices are getting stupid. However, with that said, I love mine. Big Grin

Agreed. I've seen, held, and fired the MK23. Did nothing for me at all, no way I'd burn money on one. I believe your assessment of why people fawn all over them is probably correct. Most folks don't know the pistol was a flop with SOCOM.

Technically yes and no.

There are no USPc or P2000 mags that are 15 rounds that I am aware of.

There are 15 round P30sk/VP9sk mags that replaced the previous 13 rounders. These mags will work in the P30sk, VP9sk or P2000sk with no modification.

Since the above are technically USPc mags at their heart all you need to do is replace the sk baseplate with a USPc/P2000 baseplate and you have a 15 round P2000/USPc mag.

I have heard that folks have used the 15-17 round conversion to convert the compact mags from 13-15. I haven’t done this.

Clear as mud, right. Smile

Take care, shoot safe.

What he said. In addition, if you have the old magazines they sell a +2 conversion kit. It is an HK USA factory part. It turns the 15 round tube into 17 and 13 into 15. I bought a bunch to convert P30 mags. I just pulled out the conversion guts and put them into the P2000 magazine and voila, 15 rounds.

Did you just straight swap the conversion kit into the 13 round mag? Seems like the spring would be too long, compress too much in the shorter body, no???

That’s what they said on the other forum and that’s what I did. 15 rounds. I agree about seeming too long but side by side the mag tubes are closer than I thought they would be. The big change appears to be the follower. Which makes me think you could cut the legs on a stock one and perhaps get one or both rounds. Alas the conversion kit wasn’t expensive when I bought a bunch of them to convert the P30 mags. HK blew out the old mags at something stupid cheap like 10 for 100 bucks or something. I have a ton of guns that fit those mags so I bought 20 assorted mags and a bunch of conversion kits.

It has been awhile so don’t quote me, but since I now had a pile of “old” guts I experimented. I took an old follower and cut down the legs to approximate the new style. I went on the conservative side. The follower on HK’s by the way are kind of “long” in depth compared to most brands. Anyway, with a simple trim I easily got an extra round. I think I might have gotten two with more trimming but I was content with the easy one and a mag that seemed no less reliable feeling than stock. (loaded and unloaded feeling the same)

Thank you I might tinker with it for the sake of tinkering. I’ve never felt disadvantaged with 13 rounds but since they are not broken I surely must “fix” them. Smile. It’s the tinkerers afflixion Frown.

Tinker away. Clearly HK was being very conservative in their magazines. They even added 2 rounds to their previous 10 rounders.

I read somewhere that HK will be giving the +2 treatment to the USP Compact and P2000 magazines. Previously, the most recent change was giving the +2 treatment to the various VP9SK/P30SK magazines.

Totally agree with the grip. When I had the P30, I remember thinking, man, this grip is just perfectly made for my hand. The ergo and the surface texture were just right. I still think that.

I picked up the 9mm OD green HK P2000 today. It even fits nicely in a Milt Sparks VM-II built for a P2000sk. The trigger is completely covered.
Our local FFL that we have done business with for several years packed up and moved to interior South Carolina. (no surprise here, with the asinine NY State gun laws)
Through the recommendation of a friend, now we have a new FFL. He's based out of his home so operating expenses are reduced compared to running out of a storefront.
The downside to the new FFL, he's located in the next county. Two round trips today due to policy/procedure/laws in NY State. $25 for the transfer, $10 for the NYS background check.

The P2000 came with three magazines, and I ordered three additional magazines when I ordered the pistol. The 3 with the gun have red followers, the 3 additional have black followers.
I need to call HK USA customer service. I would like some more red followers, and see if I can be included in the Magapalooza offer for four extra magazines direct from HK.
I'm out by a few days with my purchase date, but still it's worth a try. ($200 credit at the HK web store)

I will post some photos soon.

I reached out to HK Customer Service earlier today. They have had the Magapalooza magazine rebate going on for about a year now. It officially ended March 31, 2024
If you bought a VP9 full size, or P30 full size, or P2000 full size, HK gave you a webstore credit worth $200, or four free magazines.
The HK rep told me to try it online, and the system accepted my rebate offer, even though I had a purchase date four days past the end of the program.
I ordered 2 additional for the new P2000, and 2 for my recently purchased HK45. Total cost for the four HK factory magazines? About $15.
I also got the new P2000 out for a photo shoot. The OD green frame is hard to photograph under artificial lighting. In person under natural lighting, it's considerably darker.

Does anyone on the forum have a Bruce gray p7 longslide? Just wondering how the gas system works with the extra length and if disassembly is difficult.
