In early 1986, I bought a S&W 645, and was delighted to discover it was more accurate than my venerable Colt Gold Cup National Match. I shot thousands and thousands of rounds through it without a glitch. During the late 1980's, there was a gun shop called "The Marksman" in Glenview IL that was always a treat to visit because they frequently had rare or historic (and very expensive) collectible guns in their fine gun room. During different visits, I recall seeing 6 different variations of rare Bren Ten 10mm's and Bren .45 ACP pistols. The Marksman went out of business over 15 years ago, but the memories of handling these Miami Vice Bren 10's are still vivid.

Your gun reminds me of my Smith 52 Master, I have at my other house. It's a 38 wadcutter target gun, I haven't shot in at least 20+ years but when I did it was a very accurate gun. I love the looks

I snagged a Smith 6904 a few weeks ago, but mine has the round trigger guard so probably outside the Miami Vice years. I would love to get a 4506 for less than 4 digits but that seems to be a neat trick these days.

I miss the 80’s in South Florida, Miami Vice was king, we had plenty of cool guns, hunted the Communist and Socialist Sandinistas for sport, keeping their Sandinista ears as souvenirs, watching guys in the parking lot try to figure out where to put all the gunshow stuff they just bought in their Ferrari or Porsche, and I walk out of the Miami Beach Coconut Grove gunshow with a pallet-jack of 15,000 rounds of ammo and put into my 83 Subaru. Which was nothing compared to some other people leaving the gunshow. And no one batted an eye. I really miss the 80’s!!! Lol Vltor just needs to release the MV Bren Ten they have in 10mm and .45.

Hmm...I imagine hauling around those keys of flake always made it a Tetris game to cram in the new go-bang hardware and the ammo to feed them in a Countach. The mundane, day-to-day annoyances they had to face in those hazy, long ago '80s in The Magic City, and to the soundtrack of A Flock of Seagulls even.

reminds me of a guy I knew back then (RIP() that was maybe 400 lbs, drove a VW Rabbit Diesel,
the trunk had 5 or 6 50cal cans of ammo in the bottom, and he always had a handful of firearms in it as well,
between he, the ammo, and firearms, the car was just about at load limit,
knew 2 brothers then (one RIP, the other is a good customer) that were more the Jetta type in the 90's, before he good to big to drive, the oldest (RIP ) was ~500lbs, the youngest 380ish, the car would raise up a couple inches when they got out, (they did not carry much ammo in the trunk)
^^^ Cut the 400 lbs in half and it could have been me! LOL Miss those 3 Rabbit Diesels that got over 50 mpg. But as to what dubagel said, yes, VLTOR needs to get the Bren 10 on the production line. I'd love to have one. And BTW, YES(!) I too miss the 80s.....

Buddy of mine bought one when they were first offered. They were truly a diesel. Just from the amount and smell of the exhaust you'd think there was a Peterbilt in the driveway.

Det. Sgt. James "Sonny" Crockett (Don Johnson) uses a SIG-Sauer P220 in "Brother's Keeper" (S1E01), the pilot episode of the show. Considering that the pilot episode was filmed in the spring of 1984 the model used would most likely have been the European model with the heel-clip magazine release.
Well since it was the 80s and 9mm ammo wasn't up to today's standards I would probably have gone with something in .45acp or .357magnum.
Maybe a Sig 220 or 1911 Commander.
or
S&W 65 3" barrel with a S&W 36 as a backup gun.
