Forgive me, I have sinned (Colt related)

shovelheadForgive me, I have sinned (Colt related)
At work the other day a Detective Special came in. Original box, no papers or tools. 2” barrel blued, slight muzzle wear.
Originally I wasn’t going to do it, I need to be an adult occasionally and in the last month have been spending money on things for the house, wife’s car, vet bills, maintenance on yard equipment. Need to send in my Jeep for rust repair under the taillight and a new set of tires.
Saturday my original decision was “no” but I decided to check the S/N for a manufactured date. 1964-66. You can guess where this went.

Don’t feel bad. We just built a new home and have had to cut back. My wife took my gun money and bought a vacuum cleaner. Darn vacuum cost nearly as much as the HK45 I have been saving for.

shovelheadI get a lot of good natured harassment from the “kids” at work (20’s-30’s) and my Fudd guns.
They ooh and ahh over Platypuses, Caniks, Shadow Systems, etc. and I’m all over the old Smiths and Colts that come in.
I’m not totally living in the past though, I carry a P365 Tac Ops.

The only opinion if he sinned that matters is Shovelhead's wife.

Must have been a Dyson. Those things are good, if there is a rodent hiding under a sofa that thing will get it.

egregoreYou are forgiven. Now go forth and sin some more.

My co-conspirators at work help me TOO much.
Well, except on my day off once they forgot to call me about the Colt Commander 3” 9mm IN THE BOX that came in……..

egregoreEven now, with my priorities shifted to necessary/practical/utilitarian, I think if I went to work in a gun shop, I'd spend more than I made. Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself.

shovelheadIt’s a retirement job. Forty seven years in auto dealer parts was enough of that routine. Worked prior to retirement and post retirement part time in Harley Davidson but the last dealership was taken over by a dealer group and I wasn’t too warm and fuzzy about that.
Fortunately not a lot of older guns come into the shop I work at. The other day I sold a Serbian Mauser that garnered very little interest which surprised me. Except for the bolt all number matching including the stock. And priced right.

Miele. At least it is German like my Sigs and HKs.
Rodent under sofa? That’s not a job for vacuums. My real fire power handles that…our Boston Terriers… actually they would probably run from one if it was in the house.

fischtown7I know Miele, good stuff, used to have a Miele washing machine in Germany.
