As was already mentioned by someone early in this discussion, the M11-A1 is essentially a 9mm P229 (not a P228) except with no rail, phosphated internals, and a standard SRT. I'm not sure the phosphated parts add much to durability. So unless you want a different caliber than 9mm, or you want a rail, I would just buy another M11-A1. | |||

Here comes a throw from center field. I recently stumbled onto a 229C in 9mm. It almost immediately, after I wrung it out, replaced my cherished 228 as my carry gun. | |||
