You guys talking about your P2000 guns in .357 Sig are making me sad. I want mine back too! "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

I don’t mind new guns, in fact I love them. I do still love my old DA/SA 9’s the most. However I still manage to buy 2-3 new pistols a year. I’m not loyal to a round but I prefer Sig or HK. Last year I strayed and bought a Stoeger. I may stray again this year. Regardless of what I get, I’m like the op, and keep going back to my mainstays. I still say no to optics though.

I have a S&W 4553, it was my EDC before i got my P239, went to the range last week and a buddy shot the Smith and was astounded by how tight it shot.I told him they were basically custom assembled pistols where the frame, slide, and barrel stayed together from start to finish. I would never give a second thought about going back to it, it shoots that good.

I bought a P365 XL with an optic, first one I've ever owned. Shot it a few times and sent the optic back to Sig for a replacement because it had a blemish on the lens. In the meantime bought a rear sight plate for the pistol. I got the optic back but never did put it back on. Maybe I don't want to learn how to use it but I don't care for it. It's too bulky and I'm used to iron sights. As to the OP of all my firearms, I lean more toward my Gen 2 Glocks and West German Sigs. I've bought and sold many firearms over the years, but those are my favorites.

Great shooting! I always find it interesting when all of these new things come out and then the “old stuff”, gets a cold shoulder despite being just fine for decades or more. I remind people that the old stuff was new and cutting edge at one point and was perfectly fine until the new batch of new came out! Heck I still (including myself) see people rocking wheelguns and doing just fine. A guy at our local club just won a bowling pin match, shooting his wheel gun and beat all the guys with all the latest and greatest leadslingers. Red dots are awesome, and I totally see the appeal, but I still prefer irons on my pistols 90% of the time and have been able to get to where I can consistently shoot 1-2 inch groups standing at 10 yards with a decent pace. And this is with mostly my tried and true pieces that have none of the new features.
