I have one that I pocket carry in an Alabama Holster for those times where inside or outside the waistband with my Commander isn't practical. I feel confident with both the pistol and my choice of carry ammo.

Looked at it, but the Ruger 380 Max won out for me, super light and thin, easy pocket carry since down here, shorts or gym shorts are the norm for being outside, or lightweight clothes.

and it's 10+1 capacity plus you get a spare mag which is also light to keep on your body.

I bought a LCP Max for that pocket carry role and size-wise it does work very well. However I just suck at shooting the thing.

As for the BG380, I also never shot that thing very well. I also never completely got over how the very early ones had a tendency to shed parts. West Coast Armory once showed me a customer example that they were sending back to S&W for him/her, and I guess that "traumatic" experience Wink never evaporated from my grey matter. I hear that they're much better now, though it's funny some images just seem to last...

My wife carried one for a few years. The ergonomics were nice, but that trigger...ugh. It was horrible. It was a very long and heavy pull. There are much better options out there, particularly the Ruger LCP max. The LCP has a much better trigger and sights.

Thanks everyone for the comments...
I ordered an LCP Max, it is a tad larger but it way more shootable for me, especially the trigger. I'll report back when I get it and shoot it, probably next week...
Side note, I carry a 365XL and was happy with it, mostly.... I've been watching ebay for a shorter slide and bought a std. brown 365 slide assembly with everything, even the frame and FCU parts, only thing I did not get was the serial number part and it was a steal... Wish I could post a pic, put the slide on the XL and shot ten shots for function and then ten for a group, 9 of 10 were one big hole at 9 yards... Now I'm happy...

EDIT: Looks like the OP didn’t need my advice, was one step ahead of me! I’ll learn to read one of these days….

ORIGINAL message: I owned one for a few years. To state the obvious: it isn’t a range toy. Crap trigger, snappy, dinky sights, etc… but it’s tiny and It could save your life. For it’s designed purpose it’s a fine firearm.

Another viable option is the Ruger LCP Max. Darn near the same size but holds 10 or 12, better trigger (IMO) and you can change the sights on the Max if you prefer. I ditched my Bodyguard for the LCP Max about a year ago, don’t miss the BG.
