I traded a Glock 17 for this gun and need a holster before 12 Dec. That is the day of my annual pig hunt with my brothers. Any recommendations?

I will be mounting my Trijicon RMR up to it tomorrow.

In a hurry? Try the Kenai Gunfighter rig chest holster. They should be in stock somewhere. I’ve not used one but reviews are solid.

Comp-TAC shows one and they are pretty quick.

I carry mine in a Hill People Gear Kit bag with a trigger guard holster.

^^^^ What he said! I think that Gunfighters has an Ebay page that has fast shipping in addition to their regular site.

Pretty much any Glock 20/21 holster with an open muzzle will work...

I use the Kenai rig for my Glock 40 with optic as well. Excellent choice.

Nice set up! May I ask why you would take off the Vortex Venom? I have a Venom and it’s an awesome red dot despite being inferior to the RMR.

I second that. I also use the Kenai rig for my Glock 40 with RMR. It's a nice setup.

Was the only “duty” style holster I could find for a G40+WML, still isn’t long enough for my use, ill need to modify it with a heat gun.

I have an extra lying around and like you said the Venom is a little inferior (just joking), but for hunting, I want the tougher sight.

Buy a cheap Glock 20/21 kydex holster. Chop off the muzzle area with a Dremel or bandsaw to accept the longer slide. That'll tide you over.

I was going to recommend Muddy River Tactical because I know they would get it to you by your required date, but was surprised to see they didn't list the G40: I think this is an oversight. It may be worth a call to them to see if they can fix you up.

I have no affiliation with this company, but the kenai chest rig is in stock.

That would probably be the holster I'd pick anyway for hunting.

The Glock 40 and 41 fit safariland glock 35 holsters. The slide is the same profile as a 35 without the window in the top and some of the internal lightening cuts.

The Glock 35 and 41 are thinner than the 40, according to the Glock website. I know that my G21+comp will not fit a G35 Safariland holster, and the 40 is listed to have the same slide width as the 21.

The 40 has a 6.02" barrel. The 35 has a 5.31" barrel. Most Safariland stuff is closed on the end.

The non-light-bearing 6xxx-series Safariland ALS Glock holsters are open at the muzzle. So that may be an option if the other dimensions besides slide length are otherwise compatible, although I don't know if they offer RDS-compatible versions of that older holster design.

The 6377 or 6378 are the models compatible with pants belts instead of duty belts.

You are correct. For some reason I thought it had the same slide length as a g41, which does fit a g35 holster
