Picked mine up from the FFL today. Not too bad. The finish is pretty worn the barrel shows some mild scalloping but not terrible.
Racks nicely, trigger is as I except from a 22x DA/SA.
I’d likely rate it as good and not very good. I am in it for $650 and wanted a shooter my feelings aren’t hurt.
Looking forward to shooting it.
If Sig continues their Fathers Day Sale on the Service Package I’ll likely send it off.

I’ll try to get some pics uploaded in the next few days.

I am glad to hear it's better than expected. Let us know how she shoots.

Y’all had me pretty worried after reading this thread but
The more I take it apart and look at it for $650 I think it’s in pretty good shape.
Rails are clean, barrel has a little wear, finish has some light wear. Everything feels solid, put it together and shake it there is not rattling or noise. Slide to frame fit is excellent, not loose at all. Granted I am no professional but looks like a fine shooter to me. I have seen a heck of a lot worse.

Seems a bit steep on the pricing.

Picked mine up. Very tight and very solid fit, but would not rate as very good in the finish department. It has had the snot shot out of it, but rifling still looks good. Will shoot it and see if needs a barrel replacement. Whomever had it kept it well lubed.

I am with Black92LX in satisfied for what it is. His is in better finish shape compared to mine. I think a little cheaper price would have been warranted. Definitely could use a little Sig service package love in the future.

Overall I am satisfied and happy. Now to go shoot it.

I think y'all did well.
I didn't mean to poopoo on the thought of purchasing one.
If the price were a little lower, I might have bought one simply for the uniqueness of the firearm.
Your pictures look better than the ones in the ad. Big Grin

Being that they sold out the non-Israeli Marked Surplus pretty quickly, perhaps the price wasn't too high. Wink

That is one horrendous import mark. I get that it’s required by law but dang. How about making it look subdued and invest in a professional marking tool not some hand done dot matrix dremel looking garbage.

I bought the Swiss police version 228 when they came here years ago. Bought 2. Lot cheaper than these. Both were rattle traps that I sold. In their defense they rattled like a mason jar full of brads but they shot fine.

I love the history of these. Cool pickup.

Looks like you guys did good. Those definitely look a lot nicer than mine, and hopefully they shoot as good as they look!

HA HA!!!
I have a new favorite pistol a clapped out Sig 228!!!
This gun has dethroned my Sig 226 that has held that title for the last 22 years.
Shot a bit today about 100 rounds of 115 grain WWB. I only have the MecGar 15 round 228/229 mag that came with it so I took along an old factory 15 round factory 226 Zipper back, 17 and 21 round Mec Gars that I have for my 226.
It ran like an absolute top and grouped as good as any pistol of mine knew or used.

I love my 226 but the slightly smaller package of the 228 is absolutely where it is at for me.
I am in it for $650 and not mad at all.

I may toss a Short Reset Trigger just to shorten the reset just a hair.
I’ll just keep shooting it the way it is. If Sig keeps up the Fathers Day Service Package sale I will likely go ahead and get her freshened up.
