My google-fu has failed me so I figure I will ask the experts Is it feasible to upsize a 226 x-five from 9mm to 40/357 sig? The mags fit fine but I am not sure about the interchangeability of the rest "Dyin ain't much of a livin...boy" | ||

Although I am not familiar with the X-Five models, the slides for 9mm and 357/40 are different. The latter are usually somewhat heavier and the main thing is they have larger breech faces. A 40 S&W case would not fit the 9mm face. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. It would require a different slide assembly At least the Original X-5s and X-6s had the slides hand lapped when they were built in the Mastershop A conversion kit would change the wear pattern on the frame, probably reducing accuracy when you switched back to 9MM Now 95% of the shooters in America would probably never see the difference That being said, Germany did offer a 6" 9MM conversion for the P220 X-6 but I never met anyone that bought one. The cost was not too different than picking up P226 X-5 instead However, I like to keep my Mastershop pistols original All of my X-5s and X-6s are 9MM except I do have an Allround in 357SIG and a P220 X-6 in 45ACP ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . .
