I just acquired a nice Sig P228 with the nickel finish. It came with the marked box, test target, users manual and 2nd magazine.

How many of these were made? I looked at the 228 serial number list on this site and my serial number is lower than what is listed. Mine is KB marked.

No one knows the production number. But, from my observations, the year 1991 (KB) is the most prolific year for the Ni P228.

Congrats and good for you. I have always loved the nickel Sigs and to have one in the P228, is a treasure. Of course you know, we love pics.

What a great find! Unknown production number, but my very first brand new SIG pistol was a nickel P228, dated 1991 too (purchased in early 1992). I still own and shoot it today. One of my all-time favorite pistols. Love the finish.
