I have a hard time wrapping my head around guns like this. They seem like they are trying to be a tool yet there are innumerable options that are FAR cheaper and FAR more proven.

Now as a “gun guy” I totally get “kinetic art” f you will and can completely understand spending obscene amounts of money on guns just for their own sake, as art or “jewelry” or whatever. I fully support this.

I just don’t know where guns like the Bullwork or X9’s fall. They are far too expensive/unproven to be just a weapon/tool yet not really quite nice enough to be “kinetic art”. I certainly don’t begrudge those who do “get it” but I don’t.

Not really any different in concept than most striker fired guns these days. They tend to have a fully cocked striker with no manual safety, just the trigger tab (or not) paired with a reasonable trigger weight and various internal drop safeties, so are effectively "cocked and unlocked".

Even Glock, well known for only having a partially cocked striker, offers a fully cocked option nowadays with their Glock Performance Trigger.

I am apparently not in the marketing zone for Wilson Combat. I do not get this gun AT ALL. It looks pug ugly, it seems to be a solution to no problem whatsoever, appears to be about as comfortable to carry as the average picatinny rail wrapped 2x4, and all that for a price of several fully kitted out Ruger RXMs.

Jeez, so negative in here.

Try looking at it from the plus side.

Ugly, a Grizzly or Dagger looks better than this

Ruger LCP II (in rimfire and the recently discontinued centerfire) and LCP Max use cocked hammers, either with or without manual safeties (but with trigger tab and drop safeties), do they not? And guns like the P320 are functionally this.

Who knows how this new Wilson gun will turn out. It may be fine, particularly if made in-house, but they have made - or sold someone else's - stinkers before. Circa 2000 they sold a South-African-made handgun that was formerly marketed as the Heritage Stealth. Heritage Stealth I can't recall the Wilson version's name.

Completely different

The ADP was marketed by Wilson, not built by Wilson

Been reading a lot about this pistol in the past month.

Eventually I’ll get one to add to my Wilson collection, albeit it’s a lot less expensive than any of my others. I have the wines Wilson’s for 25 years and all have been stellar.

You know how some auto tuners will put gobs of money into an economy car (e.g., Honda Civic, Ford Fiesta, VW Golf) to improve it? The Bulwark looks as if Wilson Combat did that to a Kel-Tec P15.
