I've got a set of hogue grips that are supposed to fit my p226,Wrong grips..
The grips I have are marked inside "X5" can anybody help to indentify what I've got ...Thanks

You got the grips made for the P226 X5. Most X5s are single action only (SAO), except for a few like the X5 Allround and the X5 Short, which are DA/SA. I suspect your gun is a regular DA/SA P226. That's why the X5 grips you got don't fit.

The X-Five grips would have a groove milled for the magwell and extra material for the milling of the X-five around the top of the left grip. Depending on the style of trigger return spring, the right side grip may interfere with it also.

You can remove the material from the grip, but it would be a lot better to shop for another set.
