So like most people I rarely get the ability to practice draws, movement off the X when drawing, backing to cover blah blah. with any live fire. I've had a few courses but in general like the vast amount of people I have access to flat ranges. Now like every shooter should be doing I do my fair share of dry fire, draws to first shot, movement, etc. in a controled home environment. One thing that has always been missing is a "Shot Timer" so to speak for my first shot from concealment or low ready. I recently found an IPSC shot timer on the Apple app store. It is free and most importantly lets you dial in the level of decibels you want to trigger the timer at. This is done very easily using a sliding line and you can easily find the sweet spot between hammer/striker dropping vs. ambient or clearing kydex noise. All that is to say if you are looking for a free dry fire "shot timer" you might want to give this a try. It will give you a nice measurable time to first shot. (it will do splits etc. as well but I am just dry firing so I am looking for first shot on an A zone from draw or low ready times for me. I use it in conjunction with a laser so I can see my hits and get a feel for how shitty my trigger press is. Hey if it sucks for you.....I'll cover the cost. I know there are higher tech options that do all kinds of things but I am a simple low speed high drag dude who just wants to simple dry fire drills. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/...t-timer/id6766259993 Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I don't know if I want Apple tracking my shot times, who knows what they will do with the data and what government agency they'll notify that I shoot guns!

Dear Mr. HRK, While we understand your fears and trepidation, especially given all the popular media over the decades showing us wanting to destroy you or cleanse you in nuclear fire, we assure you and feel like we have provided ample evidence that all we really want to do is sell you shit. Speaking of which that thing you were looking at yesterday is selling fast, you may want to jump on it. With regards, Skynet Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

Once again, Sigforum for the win, I started shooting matches recently and was thinking of buying a timer, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I use the Trex Arms Range day app daily. Mainly because it’s a great dry fire app and the government fear doesn’t live rent free in my head. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

I wonder if an old I-phone, not connected to any phone company, could have the app downloaded and it be usable. I have done similar things with old Android phones, they will sill connect to wifi but are dead as far as being a phone. Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.
