I've owned a few. 21A or 950B in 22lr. Nice gun to have on you when you can't carry anything larger.

I found the most reliable feeding was with CCI Stingers. You have have to clean the chamber after 50 rounds or so. Avoid Mexican ammo - very dirty.

And.....grease the rear ears on the frame to cut down on wear.

Bobcats are special. They are fun and neat. I’ve never kept a gun that has been as problematic as this one. I would especially like mine if I got it for a hundred bucks. Lol

I've had good ones and bad ones. The last one I had would only function with Stingers. And that was if you kept it clean. It wasn't dependable at all with standard velocity 22LR.

Dad's girlfriend had a 21a that ran fine with good ammo,

bulk box crappy 22lr and it would not


I carried a 950BS for years in 25acp
only issue I has was if I did not grab it correctly, sometimes the slide would go across the web of my hand at cut me, (about like a paper cut)


only reason I got rid of it was that I bought a Seecamp in 32

I would love a 25 Bobcat. I don’t know why. Lol

The Bobcat in 25 ACP doesn't really do anything for me. But I am really starting to jones after a 32 cal Tomcat. No real reason, just...intrigued.

Problem with those is that they crack. They pretty much all do if you shoot them. Even with the recommended powderpuff loads they insist upon. Beretta knows they crack and they won’t do anything after the 1 year warranty. The good news is that most people consider the area that cracks to be a non load bearing area so it’s probably ok. It’s the “probably” that keeps me away. Lol

Beretta really needs to revisit the Bobcat/Tomcat lineup and put some of their bigger brains on solving the issues.

Nope. Beretta hasn’t addressed anything about the cracking. You might be thinking of them “addressing” it by making the slide heavier/thicker. The idea was to slow down the slide velocity. The thicker slides ones still crack though. So I guess they did address it. Just not effectively.

Maybe a Langdon Bobcat/ Tomcat????? That’s would be interesting!

The frame didn't crack, but the trigger mechanism on this Tomcat apparently did. Posted to YT about three months ago. About 19 minutes in...



Velocitors work with my Bobcat. Lately Mini-Mags seem to mostly work as well.

I once owned a Beretta Minx. Its a 950 chambered in .22 Short. Fun little pistol! Like an idiot, I sold it.

I hear everything ya'll are saying about the Tomcat. Shoot, I even believe you. Still. If I see one at what I think is a good price it will probably come home with me

They are very rare to find now.

I had the Jetfire, back in the days when small pistols were 25 acp.

Took the Bobcat out again today. It does NOT like CCI Velocitor. I had 5 failure to feed malfunctions in 3 mags worth of ammo. I put those away and it ate 50 rounds of CCI SV without a hiccup. Good for me that it likes less expensive ammo I guess. I have some Mini-mags on order, both solids and HP. They should be here next week so I can test them out. Still a blast to shoot and it has not fired once without me pulling the trigger.

I have a Bobcat in .25. Awesome little gun.

It’s a good introduction to centerfire after starting someone on a .22 revolver.

I’ve never had a failure with mine, not once. It doesn’t care what I feed it, which seems to be usual with the .25 versions. The .22 versions can be picky.

I've had one for 20 yrs, haven't shot it alot but amazing how accurate it is for a small auto. I cannot imagine it going off all by itself LOL

I had an old model 20 Bobcat in .25ACP that I got for $100. It was decently reliable, but the plastic grips fell apart (I did manage to find replacements), and I didn't like how the slide fell off when you opened the tip-up barrel. Also, .25 ACP is a horrible little round to source.

I ultimately ended up selling it to my BIL for $100, so I broke even. He's not really a gun guy...just wanted a gun to have a gun. He still has it, but rarely shoots it, so it's perfect for him. If it had been chambered in .22LR, I'd probably still have it, but in .25 it was just too much of a pain to keep ammo around.
