These were, I believe, the last run of 3rd Gen guns Smith ever made

Around 750 total
A few dozen overruns made it to the S&W performance center shop in Maine.
Those being insane money online.

I am in WV, so am very familiar with these.
Original silver finish guns were carried for a long time. They bought this last run and then changed over to Glocks a couple years later

Never had a chance to pick up one of the black Melenite guns.
Found this one in local classifieds online
It turns out the WV Public Service Commission piggy backed the contract and got around 30 for their armed guards (mainly retired State Troopers I’ve been told )

They didn’t pay the extra few dollars to get the agency name engraved

This is probably one of the rarest 3rd gens ever made.

The WVSP guns still pop up on GB for >1500 price range.

Didn’t get a box, and only one mag, but I’m tickled to get it

That pistol is representative of one of the best models and type ever produced. Gen 3 smith semi autos are awesome. I had the performance center version of that pistol, the CQB, (I actually had a couple, one stainless all steel and one all melonite with alloy frame, but neither had a rail) and those DID have the Briley bushing.
Great find !

That is phenomenal. I felt happy to get one of the CHP all steel 40’s they put on market a few years back but this is waaaay better. Nice score.

That is a real beauty and I am very jealous. I used to own a 4506 back in 2003 that I mistakenly sold and I regret it and my 457, I wish I had both them back.

But this 4566TSW? This takes the blue ribbon.
