longjohnCustom Works Sig P220
I lucked into one yesterday. This is the black one with nickel controls. When I got it home to lube it for first range trip upon disassembly i noticed it had a flat wire recoil spring. I haven't owned a P220 in years, so I couldn't remember but does a regular production 220 use the same spring ? If not any idea why this set up ??

No.
The factory recoil springs of standard P220s and most other Classic line models consist of multiple round wires twisted around a central axis (but, no: they are not “braided”

).
Can you post some photos of the gun and recoil spring assembly?
