STI HOST Optic Plates Availability? Login/Join

I happened upon a seemingly very lightly used STI DS 4.0 in 9mm today. The asking price is $1400, which seems plenty reasonable. Upon inspection of the contents, though, the clerk and I found the optic mounting plates were not in the box. This is a large store and we'll just assume there's no chance that anybody will contact the previous owner about them.

I have an email out to STI inquiring about this, but in the event that they're slow, I thought I'd ask here if anybody knew if they sell them separately. I have not been able to find them online in the searching I have done.

Also, curious if anybody has thoughts on the HOST system and its durability.

Thanks

STI makes a good 1911.

STI customer service eats big ones.

I wouldn't have been able to pass that one by. Let us know how it turns out.

STI has said they will send me the plates free.

After spending an obscene amount of time on hold with the retailer yesterday and today and eventually giving up and hanging up several times, I finally got through to a human today. They claim to still have the gun. I'm going to make the hour trek back tomorrow morning, hopefully.

I've got a STI tactical DS 4.0 that I had milled for a delta point. I got it back before they started offering the cuts as an option. I have owned an obscene amount of 2011's, not only from STI, but also a number of "high end" custom shops. I think I have 5 sti's, an infinity, and an Akai in the safe now... and I can say that without a doubt, the 4" tactical is one of my all time favorites.... It doesn't have much of a purpose outside of a range toy and occasional IDPA, but it is truly a blast to shoot. I'd definitely grab that one at $1400.
