Title pretty well says it. I want to purchase a thumb safety for a M&P9 2.0. Help is appreciated.

S&W will not sell you a safety kit for the 2.0. Actually, they told me the non safety version can't be converted which is BS. I was fortunate to find a gentleman in Texas on this forum *KARMA* who removed his safety and sent it to me. It is easy to install if you have a 2.0 with removable inserts on the frame, some of the 2.0s without safety,s do not have
removable inserts Good Luck!

The only place I’ve ever sent them is:

http://www.speedshooterspecial...dex&cPath=103_88_177

But they do not appear to list them currently. If you do find one, make sure you get the detent and spring as well. They are all sold individually.

I’m currently out of town, but will try to remember to check my parts bin for any spares I might have when I get back to town.

I have one. Shoot me an email for the finer details.

I just did the same thing with mine. I initially tried with S&W but was told they can't/won't sell them if the pistol did not come with it originally, per their records/serial numbers. It was easy to install with all of the correct parts. Very nice option. I wish they made it without being ambi. but of course it is nothing a little work won't take care of.
