Correct Trijicon HD Sight Set for W. German P228
I have 2 older W. German P228s. They are the older carbon steel slides and the factory night sights are dead. I was going to replace them with Trijicon HDs. I noticed that the current sights on one are 9 front and 8 rear. The other is 7 front 9 rear.

Did they sight these in and adjust sight numbers to gain proper point of aim point of impact.

It looks like the Trijicon HDs are 8 for both front and back. Are people running these on W. German P228s? I assume they maintain a combat sight picture.

I am trying to decide if I should have Trijicon relamp the existing sight or get new HDs.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, older German guns were actually sighted in. Now you just ge 8/8 or 6/8 depending on caliber along with the “combat sight” line of B/S.

Not a solution to your problem, however. I might try the stock Trijicon HD sights for a P228 on one P228 and see how it does.

Yeah my other option is to send the existing sights in to have them relamped.

Just replaced my OEM night sights on my 229 40. 6 up front and 8 rear. It's stamped on the factory sights so perhaps the 228 is similarly marked.

Which sights did you use? Where the original sights marked 6 front 8 rear? Did you replace them with the same number.

Sig does not have 9s for their X-ray sights. I think they might have the Sig-Lites.

I had the factory Trij on the gun.

I like the colored insert around the vial and my eye just picks up green very well. Trij lights come with yellow or orange but not green.

Sig x-ray are green and that's what I bought. They are made by TruGlo and not Trij. The literature is all TG but the box is Sig wrapped.

The stampings were small and you have to look for them, perhaps even with a magnifying glass but the #6 was on the L side of the front sight and IIRC the #8 was stamped on the top of rear. Very easy to see the numbers once you started to hunt for them.

Yes, I replaced them with the same number per the Sig recommendation on the Accessories portion of their site.

Cool unfortunately no one makes the 7s or the 9s anymore. Sig only sells and installs 6 and 8s on current production guns and stopped producing the other numbers. The other manufacturers seem to have followed suit.
