Does anyone know what the Sig maintenance schedule is on the P365? If not, does anyone have recommendations on when springs should be replaced in these firearms?

I replace at 3,000 rounds, or there about. 3-5,000 is probably a safe range, but I'd consider replacing on condition. Is it functioning well? Ejection pattern consistent? Not beating itself up? 3,000 round replacement is preventative maintenance.

Are you talking just the recoil spring?
What about other springs in the pistol?

The RSA, or recoil spring assembly is supposed to be replaced every 2500rds, per the manual.

And you have to keep a round count? Oh heavens...

(BTW, I'm a little OCD so I DO keep a round count on HD firearms... Big Grin)

I laughed too. Round is a big thing with some of the shooters. There are those with log book with each gun and the rounds through them. I have seen some meticulous detail such as the brand, bullet weight, etc.

I don't have a round count with any of my guns. Life's too short to document every round.

I replaced my recoil spring at 3000 rounds. There was a noticeable improvement in my groupings with the new spring. When I looked back at my targets from when I first got the 365, the groupings were as tight, but loosened over time. This has made me a firm believer in replacing the recoil spring at 2500. It is amazing what you can notice from reviewing your shot targets.

P365/320 armorer.

Most parts are 20k rounds before recommended replacement.

10k parts are:
Sear spring torsion
Trigger bar spring
Striker safety lock spring
Manual safety detent spring.

Per page 77 of the tech armorer’s manual.

Recoil spring assembly

P365. 5k
365xl. 10k
365 SAS. 5k

Hope this helps.

Wow that maintenance interval for such a small gun is impressive.

These guns see a lot of Pocket Duty and because of this I suggest that the Fire Control Group be removed and the pistol fully De-Linted once per month. Note, do not go nuts on lube in the FCG, it's not necessary and oil surfaces pic up and accumulate lint and dust quickly. If you see a lot of stray oil on your FCG drop it in some alcohol, blow it dry with a keyboard duster and then re-lube the critical areas only with either grease or oil. Note grease is for sliding and oil is for pivot pins.

As for springs, I would expect those are good for at least 5 years of pretty steady use before a replacement is needed. Note this is based on my experience with my P239, I re-sprung it when the slide stopped locking back reliably. At that point it had a bit over 5000 problem free rounds thru the gun.

I've stopped counting.

Just think…Sig fired at least one P365 thousands of rounds to create the schedule.

Change the damn spring often. It’s cheap and you just put the new one in during a regular cleaning. I don’t understand some of the “well, on the 239 I’ve put eleventy thousand rounds so change your recoil spring every leap year” nonsense. Change it every year if you don’t keep a round count.

It is a crucial part of what makes the gun work. It’s cheap and easy to replace. Running a recoil spring to the end is not a badge of honor. As noted in the quoted post, if you keep track of rounds, change it every 2500. Or before.

My earlier production had a RSA failure which completely locked up the slide to frame. An end coil jumped over the adjacent coil, which caused a failure to lock back.

After spending an eternity to finagle the slide to frame relationship. I took the rear pin out and ripped FCU off frame caveman style.

I've seen recommendations to clean a carry gun monthly. But what about a bedside gun in a safe?

In our training room I mounted a little plaque with a new recoil spring on it for the troops to use as a go/no go guide on the rare occasions when they cleaned their pistols. They kept stealing the spring until I eventually stapled a box of new springs to the wall.

I agree, springs are cheap but essential. A change very year or so couldn't hurt.

I use grease for lube, which stays put for years. As such, a gun in a safe is fine for years. I lube at least every year or so for a nightstand gun.

GREAT Thread Discussion points - Because of this thread I just ordered a replacement recoil spring assemblies for my two P365's and my one P365XL from our forum friends at Osage County Guns. I love their very fair shipping costs (these replacement springs cost me $5.800 in shipping) and they shipped out one day after I placed my order online. Better to have them on hand when they are needed or ready to be changed out vs. having to find one when it is needed.

Thank again to all for the comments/recommendations in this thread.....
