I have no doubt that the top notch presentations Keystone roll out for their consigned guns, plus their reputation, are the driving force in bringing top dollars, especially for the rare/scarce ones. Q

Yes, plus a wide audience, CC payment or layaway, all drive prices up. You know what you're getting and no surprises. Lots of smaller dealers I know won't even sell on GB and send to Keystone instead as they do a better job and time is money.

That is interesting, these known sellers on GB from my own checks they usually take 15% or so. May have to consider trying one. Yes, I think the W. Germans are worth it due to limited supply and the beauty of them, for example the Nickel classics (Klein) are way, way up there.

I love these threads. The old folded steel slides balance better, blah blah blah. I chuckle because I would bet you lunch that if we recreated the blind wine test but with a timer on a course of fire the vaunted “balance” wouldn’t show up. Neither would the heavier mass and bigger impulse. Assuming equal quality triggers and the same sights there would be no performance difference. At all. That isn’t to say you aren’t allowed to have preferences. Of course you are. There is no real world difference though while shooting. The next thread should be, “Which is better the 225 or the 225a1”. Heads will fly off shoulders so much steam will be coming out of ears. Lol

And I love it when people conjecture about the outcome of a hypothetical test, claiming they know what the result will be. ![]()
