P365XL - Discontinued?
Has anyone heard about the P365XL being discontinued? A friend of mine went to order a P365XL from their LGS, and they were told the P365XL was discontinued (is being discontinued??) I checked the SigSauer website, and it shows the XL...Is anyone tracking changes to availability of models? I'm looking to pick up another one soon...

Thoughts? Comments?

Call SIG and ask. Maybe they just aren't producing them right now as they produce other models. Also go to another gun store and see what they have available or are willing to order. Sometimes gun stores want you to buy what they have in stock now as opposed to ordering new.

Yup, that’s the only way to know for sure. I wouldn’t trust what the LGS has to say.

Now, even if they decide to D/C it, it really doesn’t matter. You can build your own P365 to whatever configuration that suits you.

Although knowing how Sig does things, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear they discontinued another product.

It would be a shame if they did, especially with all of the hubbub with the P320. They should have been marketing the heck out of the P365, as I think it is the best platform for a striker fired gun they offer and I own both the P320 and P365. Aftermarket support is strong and like others have said, you can make your own if you wanted. They nailed the fcu thing and others are/wanting to copy it.

I just ordered one from Dahlonega Armory. They are still available online. Difficult to find at a local FFL.

That seems like an odd choice on sig's part. the XL is sort of the baseline for getting into the larger 365s I'd expect them to drop the 365X first.

So, beings you “know” how SIG does things, how do they do things? What metrics do they use to discontinue items? What metrics do they use to supply orders?

Yes, the 365 in 3.7" barrel is not in the current line. (edit for clarification - did not mean to include Xmacro/Luxe ect, just the original 3 sizes)

I went to a Sig seminar in July where they showed current line and when I didn't see an XL, I asked the marketing people there. Several in the room were also disappointed as it was currently popular out here. Previous to that, the "XL" was dropped from the slide markings, and whether it was 3.1 or 3.7" it just said "x".

Well you can still find new XLs on GunBroker right now. Get one while they still have them and before they raise prices.

Gallery of Guns should always be one step in checking things out. Using a central Houston zip code I get at least 25 returns on any inquiry at the 25 mile radius. I can go up to 100 mile radius and get several dozen. The best price in Houston is always one shop that using the right zip code is the last in the list of 25 mile radius. If GoG has it in stock I know the best price to beat and if they don't have it in stock I can set a stock watch to be notified. I use other sources as well but always include them for solid information.

If true, it's disappointing, the XL is the goldilocks gun, the smallest possible gun that is still very shootable. It's my EDC (with Wilson Combat grips).

My guess is that they will come out with a re-spun version shortly with some silly branding change. They probably don't like the "XL" branding on a gun that has become one of the smaller variants of the 365. Who needs sensical product naming conventions anyway? There's no way they're giving up this grip size/barrel length combo.

That would the original. To me.

That's how feel about the XL, everything you need and nothing you don't. I like the 10 round and 17 round versions, but the XL is Goldilocks for carry to me.

It makes you wonder, should you stock up on the 12 round magazines while they still seem readily available?

No need, the "X" is still being made that is the 12 round grip frame. Still current.
