Picked up some P6’s
I’ve got a LGS that has a pretty big selection of new and used guns. I check him out every few weeks to see if he has anything SIG that’s interesting. A few weeks ago he had 3 triple serial number P6s. I wasn’t really looking for a P6, but they piqued my interest. I wound up buying 2 of them, a really nice one we’ll call 981 and a mostly nice one we’ll call 430. 430 is nice overall except it has quite a bit of finish wear at the front of the grip. 981 is pristine and probably one of the nicest pistols I now own.

Both are stamped NW for Nordrhein-Westfalen state police in Germany.

981 was imported by BTP in New Ox, PA. and was a proofed in Jan 1984.

430 was imported by CAI in Georgia, VT and was proofed in Feb 1980.

They only came with 1 SIG mag each, and they also came with 7 Pro Mag magazines. I’ve heard the Pro Mags suck, but they were part of the deal. I haven’t shot either of them yet as my range is temporarily closed. They also came with an extra set of original grips. 430 came with a receipt from SIG and had a SRT installed and a SIG service package (SSP). Anyone know if polishing of the feed rams is part of the SSP? These were most likely from an estate sale as the receipts had the previous owners name on them and I googled him. He passed away in October 2021.

Congratulations! I’m a recent returnee to the P-225 fold. I like the look of those new-to-you pistols!

In my admittedly limited experience, P-225 ProMags were indeed lacking. That said, if you discover that they work for your guns, let me know and I’ll send you two gently-used ones. I’d rather them go to someone who could use them vs. just sitting like they currently are.

The front strap wear is often caused by rings on the shooters hand.

That’s a nice find. They really look good.
Yooper is correct, Germans wear their wedding rings on the right hand.

Sweet!

With finds like these, I need to check out my LGS more often.

Great shooters. I've been carrying my 225 for 25 years. SRT is terrific. Pick up as many mags as you can, they are expensive. Also, the Walther P1 Mag fit in the P6/225. Happy shooting! Cheers

Nice score.

It is always nice to hear there are still good deals to be had out there.

Excellent purchase of two classic Sig pistols P-6. Might be incorrect, night sights on 430? Even if Pro mags work for range try to get a couple extra factory mags since price will only go up more in future.

Congrats. You can never go wrong with a 225/P6. My second favorite SIG pistol.

Grabbed a few P6/P225 lately, I wanted to get a 3/80 P6 recently as it’s my brothers birth month but the guy wanted 900$.

I love the platform and will snag more for good prices but I don’t use it for any practical use so I’m free to get ones that peak my interests for other reasons such as history or aesthetic value.

Two very nice examples of a fantastic pistol. Nice score!

My P6 is now a safe queen. I carried it out on the lease for a few years until I saw the prices double.

Awesome pickup. Kinda wish my old P6 looked halfway as sweet as yours.

nice import mark on 981, looks like it was struck and then refinished? (the frame)

looks almost like a factory job

Great find!
The Pro-Mags are indeed a mixed bag. I have several of them for my P6s and almost every one of them has had the spring actually break.
After replacement with Wolff P6 magazine springs they have proven to be reliable magazines but relegated to range use only.

I bought one years ago, and it is still a favorite.

The Pro mags may not be satisfactory.
