Beretta M9A3
I have been casually looking at these and today ran across a shop that had some I could handle. I chose the A3 over the A4(current production) because I did not have plans to add optics. The trigger reach and grip feel very good. They supply a conversion grip (Hogue wrap around style) but they make the grip to fat for my liking. Here's some pics fresh out of the box.

Nice. If you want the old Beretta feel, LOK Grips sell wraparound grips that are thinner than the factory Beretta grips.

Thanks. If I shoot it ok with these I will probably stay with them. I like the feel and I reach the trigger really well.

I was at Shooters World in the Villages (Florida) last week and I finally got to handle one.

I really like the flat back strap and the overall feel.

I am a Beretta 92/M9 fan from way back due to carrying it on duty for two police depts and the military.

I also liked the Beretta Vertec in the past also.

Once I get my money squared away I will be picking up a Sig 2022 and a M9A3.

Congrats on your purchase. The M9A3 is a fine, fine handgun.

I own an Italian-built M9A3 Black with decocker. It's huge, but a superb shooter. I don't like the additional grip with backstrap. Too bulky for my stubby fingers. I do like the ones that come on the gun. They're just a a bit slick for me and I'm going to buy some LOK G10 grips soon.

The recoil is minimal, trigger is great with the D spring, and it may very well be the best handgun I own.

I just ordered the "G" decocker conversion kit to make mine a decocker only. I like that option much better.

I have become a huge fan of the Vertec frame. It solves my big gun, little hand issues quite nicely. That is a nice gun. Good choice over the M4 imo.

The G conversion is great. Do the ziploc bag trick though on the second spring and Detent. Lol

(I always launch the first set)

Good idea. I hope I remember that!

Nice gun. I too love the Vertec frame.

I did get the "G" decocker kit in and installed it. It would help if you had the 3 hands but I was able to get it done with YT video. It comes with everything you need to make the switch plus extra springs and detents in case you launch one into the great unknown. I like the end results. Decocker only.

Lol, yeah the G kit isn’t the easiest thing to install, but at least it’s available I guess.

That’s one advantage the M9A4 has over the A3, it’s a decocker only version from the factory.

Shot more round with the Beretta today. I did a short test between the thin stock grips and the conversion Hogue rubber wrap around grips provided the the gun as an alternative. Shot 20 rounds from 7 yds Weaver stance for both grips. First the thin stock G10 grips.

This target with the Hogue wrap around grips

I am sticking with the thin G10 grips. They felt more comfortable and I was able to settle into a spot where I could squeeze the trigger without upsetting the gun. Never could find that spot with the conversion grips. I found that I shoot better with a tight firm grip and I couldn't get the same feel with the bigger grips.

I can’t believe how many years it took me to discover Vertec. It’s a game changer to me. As much as I love my LTT’s, I prefer either one of my 92X’s, both of which have a TJIAB installed.

Looking at mine, I like to think Tuco assembled it at the gunshop counter from the parts bin. Smile

I haven't been able to shoot a vertec grip yet. Everyone I know with a Beretta has the standard fat grip.

Will the LTT Optimized Trigger Bar fit in the Vertec frames? All my 92s have the LTT OTB and a D spring. Totally changes the trigger feel for the better.

Not minority enough!

I hear you. I have never been a fan of FDE guns but this one is growing on me. I think they have a cool box as well. Looks like a ammo can but has a foam cut out for the pistol and accessories.
