Do you think there is any chance Kimber will increase their K6 line of revolvers to go beyond the .357 Mag to include the .44 Mag or .45 Colt? For that matter, I'd love to see one in .22 LR! I think Kimber arguably makes the best wheel guns today even if they are only offered in one caliber.

I'd love to see it, but going from defensive .38s/.357s to hunting revolvers in .44Mag/.45Colt seems to (currently) be a real leap for revolver manufacturers. To this day I don't understand why CZ won't make Dan Wesson revolvers in anything but .357 Magnum, and I'm not sure they'll be in any more of a hurry to expand the Colts beyond .357 and .44 Magnums than Colt was before the sale to CZ.

Understand, but the .22LR seems to be a no brainer along with perhaps a .22Mag.

22LR please!
I want to buy a ruger LCRx 3 inch in .22LR but nothing has been available around here.
Huge market for good .22 guns right now, I’d buy a kimber to go with my .357 k-6 in a heartbeat.

My request to them was to set about producing one in alloy-frame, 2" for .38+P. THAT'd be one heckuva nice carry revo.

I don’t have one but thinking about a 3” 357 mag revolver from Kimber.

I think a ‘trail gun’ in 44 or 45 Colt would sell better than a hunting revolver with a longer barrel.

I don’t really know how the strength compares to Ruger, as in ‘Ruger only’ 45 Colt loads. Even if they don’t currently make a 45, even talking about 357 mag strength.

That is a great idea. I really like my K6s revolvers but a lighter variant would be just the ticket for concealed carry.

It would be like a modern version of the old Smith Model 12.

This. I've been in the market for such a gun lately, and there are none to be found for reasonable prices. I've looked at the K6 and like it, but my bases are pretty well covered in .357. A 3" 5-shot in .45 Colt cut for moon clips so I can also shoot .45 ACP in it would get my money.

I hope they do. Kimber are the best current production 357s I’ve got. I’m not including Korth or Manurhin in that statement.

I’d love a 44, 45, 22, and 22mag by Kimber.

Regards,

P.

Try calling Kimber and inquire.

No. The market just is not there. The tooling up cost would just not be worth it in this current polymer world we live in these days.

Those would be great trail guns, and an "airweight" K6 would be even better.
But I do worry about whether Kimber thinks their revolver line is over extended. They came out with 3" and 4", and DA/SA, but their night sight versions seem to be gone (and I would think those should be bread and butter). And they have very little in the way of concealable grip options, when everyone has been yelling for small rubber grips that cover the backstrap.
I hope I'm wrong, but makes me worry.

When it comes to the K6S, Kimber is doing the best they can. When it comes to revolvers they've got the same sorts of issues as Ruger and S&W have had over the past year and a half. For now I wouldn't be too concerned with the disappearance of certain versions; just like other gunmakers they're cutting back on variations and offerings until manufacturing pressures ease up.

I’m 100% a buyer for this gun. I love my K6s and would absolutely buy a 5 shot .44, .45 or 10mm (or 6 shot 9mm) in the same sized package.

The .22 lr/mag version sounds really cool, and I might consider a 10 shot version. But I doubt there is really much of a market for that since Ruger, S&W and Taurus all offer multiple variants of .22 revolvers. Kimber would have to back way off the $1000ish price of the current K6s to compete in that market.
