Yep, I want to clone an M17. (No, I don't care about finish).

If I have read the spec sheets correctly, and some of the better journalism on the internets is correct, what I need to do is put together:

-P320 Manual Safety Fire Control Group
-P320 "Carry" Grip Module, in my chosen size
-P320 Full Size slide/barrel group with RMR cut
-Siglite Night Sights
-An appropriate smattering of 17 and 21 round magazines

And then I've got a clone of the M17 in a black finish as opposed to PVD FDE.

Right? Have I missed any differences (other than the stupid spanner wrench bolts over certain parts)?

There's supposed to be some kind of coating or finish on the internal parts that isn't present on commercial pistols.

Anything that will affect firing or handling characteristics?

I mean, I'm not a Frogman, nor do I play one on TV, and I assume the internal coating is for corrosion resistance.

As I recall, it's supposed to be for corrosion resistance and lubricity.

If I am not mistaken, you can clone the M18 also. Just use the Compact Size slide/barrel group. I am going to clone a M18 with this FDE P320 Compact Carry. I will add a Manual safety FCU.
