cslingerSo I May have stumbled into buying a Walther PDP, that is not interesting, the PDK is.
So I’m going about my Valentines business and all of a sudden out of nowhere I find myself buying a Walther PDP-F. While fun for me and all the interesting part is talking with my dealer and them noting that they have the Walther PDK on order as soon as they become available. The PDK up to this point has been basically myth. It is the successor to the PPS M2. We got to talking and they confirmed that what they were told is it is definitely a “P365” competitor and may also be offered in .380.
Now gun stores are going to gun store but none of this was a sales pitch or from a “typical gun store employee” so I would give it some credence. I heard the PDK naming convention about a year or so ago so that tracks.
Anyway I just thought it was an interesting conversation out of the blue.

BB61I’ve been thinking of a CCP but a PDK? Hmmm, I’m willing to wait and see. The HK will slowly stabilize in price and Walthers are generally cheaper than HK so a win win if they do release a comparable model.
Edited to add: This guy did a patent search and has some educated thoughts on what looks like the PDK.

Sgt 127“Competing” with the P365 is gonna be an uphill battle. I’m not a striker fired fan. But, I’ve got a P365. It’s just about perfect for what it is.

I meant it in the sense of the product is designed to play in that realm (365/shield/CC9 etc.)not necessarily that it will be some huge competition.

YooperSigsMy F model PDP is my current EDC with a direct mount Holosun SCS. Great gun and I love the ergos. Just wish it had a manual safety. I will look forward to a PDK, especially if its extended magazine option is the same mag as the PDP.

I have an FFL and distributor accounts with a number of major distributors. This gun does not exist in any of their catalogs so I think it's highly unlikely that anybody "has them on order." The gun was also not announced at SHOT.
So I wouldn't necessarily get my hopes up. The stuff that Walther has said publicly about the future "small" gun has been very limited and guarded and included zero timelines.

AUTiger89I LOVE the PPS M2, and wondered why they haven't come out with a double stack version. I'm really happy to hear about this.

dry-flyThe PDP keeps popping up on my radar and this thread is not helping! The one below really blows my skirt up.

I have a PDP and a PPS M2. Although the PDP is a good pistol, if you're not overly concerned about capacity, the PPS M2 is extraordinarily comfortable to carry and conceals far better. I prefer the 7 round magazine for IWB and carry the 8 round magazines for backup.

Have carried and would still do so today without any consternation a PPS M1. I usually carried the 8 round mag.
As for my PDP, I haven't had the time and or money to run the rounds through it I would like. I am at about 300 rounds. No issues. Fantastic gun. The gun, in capable (read that as not mine) hands can be shot FAST!! Trigger is excellent but not quite as good as the PPQ's I have experience with. I put the larger backstrap on and I REALLY like this gun.
