Lew Horton 29-3 Classic Hunter. Not crazy rare but also not your typical 29. Needs a good cleaning, hoping some of the blueing in front of the cylinder on the frame buffs up, but even if it don’t this is gonna be a shooter.

I’m searching for a good deal on a p&r 19 2.5”.

I’d also settle for a 66 2.5” for a decent price.

Another great addition to the family

Product code 101230 was a Lew Horton's exclusive offering

5,000 pieces of the 6" Classic Hunter with the 4 position Silhouette front sight wew ordered.

Production began in 1987. MSRP at the time was $1,250

We actually have Lew Horton to thank for quite a few innovations in the Smith and Wesson lineup.

His insistence on certain changes and his willingness to order 5000 pieces of those configurations brought into existence round butts for the N-Frame as well as shorter barrels on all of the N-Frames and the L-Frames. These were originally all Distributor Exclusive offerings

I had one of the 1st run whereby they named them Classic Hunter. It had the rubber Hogue mono grips. After owning it for a while, preservation got to me and I shipped it off to Metaloy Industries in Berryville, Arkansas to be satin hard chromed. IIRC, mine was # AYH1664. It was one handsome wheel gun in it's new slick finish. Someone owns that today and I bet that finish still looks good.

Those are some truly beautiful guns, and I imagine they shoot as good as they look. Nice score, Otto!

Wow, that is classy. I have always had a fondness for the smooth/unfluted cylinders on revolvers. Congrats.
