Lord VaalicAnyone have an M&P45 2.0 4 inch?
The 9mm compact is growing on me, even though I am a Glock guy. I am starting to shoot and carry .45 more and more, so this sppealing to me but I dont know anyone who has one or has even shot one. I havent seen one in a store either. The S&W web site says they are still a current model, so they are making them.
Anyone have experience with one?

10roundNH State Police issue the M&P45 4 inch 2.0. I've heard it's well liked by the troopers.

mrapteam666A couple years back I bought a compact M&P chambered in .40. after reading all the reviews here on sigforum. I paid way to much for it and it was right before the prices on pistols chambered for .40 started dropping like a flying dump truck.
Well, i really took to the pistol even though I am a die hard DA/SA person.
Shortly after I got it in my head I wanted to start trying to get the hang of the .45 ACP again and thought with my recent success with M&P in .40 I would try to find one in .45ACP
I got lucky and a Retired Sheriffs Deputy from San Diego just relocated to the Stafford area of VA to be closer to the grand kids.
I cannot say for sure if mine is 4inch or a tad longer butI love it and it is my night stand gun back in NC. I am not as good as shot as I would like at longer but I am working on it. I need a little more range time with the various back straps.
I think it carries well and it handles the recoil well even with 230 grain +P. (I am not sure why I even have those because I am not a +P person). Mine does have the safety.
I carry all my pistols stock (except for night sites)and I like the trigger on mine but many would feel it is a little gritty.
Back in 2017, I was at my old LE academy for training and sat next to a Petersburg, VA officer was informed they are/were carrying the M&P45.
They were carrying Smith and Wesson pistols (I believe 4044) when I went to the Academy with them in 2002

Il Cattivo^^^ Interesting. We were buried in them locally - used ones were available in good shape for $400 or better - before the Kung Flu. Prices may wind up being a lot better down the line as availability improves.

Il CattivoNah, it's just a panic of sorts combined with what I'm certain is a manufacturing and shipping slowdown. All the usual retailers are out of pretty much everything. I really do think you'll not only find them again but see better prices as well when things return to something more like normal.

GambitGabagun had the 4.5" model at $329 just a few months ago and since I had divested my Glock inventory I felt I needed at least one tupperware pistol.
I did a lot of online research and I am pretty pleased. Not enough to keep me from buying an MCarbo trigger kit for it.
I think it's a very good gun and I think you would be well served by it. Accurate with a nice grip and a good trigger. No malfunctions. I shoot ball and SWCs in it.

squintI have a first generation M & P .45 with the 4" barrel and the mid length frame ( 8 shot mag). It feeds the H&G 68 type swc load as well as the usual lrn type bullets. The Apex sear took most of the creep out of the trigger. It is a keeper.
