Hello, Is there any way to run a P226 slide [9mm] on a P220 frame? I understand that the frame's locking block would need to be changed from .45 to 9mm also. The reason I ask is due to my P220 in .38Super/9mm. I like it, but would prefer a slide that is not a folded steel piece with breech block pinned in- and is a solid one-piece slide like the modern P220/P226/etc. Then I won't need to worry about round count and changing that breech block double-pin set. So, that got me thinking. If a P226 barrel works in my P220 slide in .38Super, would there be a way to adapt a p226 slide to work on the P220 frame? I don't mind milling a wider ejector slot as needed, similar to my work on my 1911 to run a .45 upper and .38Super upper on the same frame, with a .38Super ejector. However, I am not sure if there is some other design difference between the slides that I am unaware of- so I thought I'd ask the collective. Thank you for any insights you can share. Sigs and Non-Sigs: I enjoy having options!

probably a good thing I don't have a cut |
Slide won't fit. Rails don't match and you can't make them fit. Since Bruce Gray adapted a stainless .45ACP P220 slide to shoot 10mm, I would ask him if he could adapt one to shoot 9mm. Who knows , maybe that's possible.
