Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

I have both 9mm & (2).40 S&W pistols.
I only bought IWB holsters for them in the past and was told by a holster maker that the dimensions are different. I also noticed that some other makers list them separately. Supposedly the .40 is a bit thicker.
Anybody have any input on this?
I'm currently looking OWB holsters, preferably leather.

I also am wondering if all .40s made before the .357 Sig can be converted to .357 Sig?

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

Yes. The slide is taller and heavier on the .40/357 SIG.

I made separate holsters for mine. There was enough difference.

You should be able to drop a .357 SIG barrel in any .40. Breechface is the same as .40.

I would assume so. It would be interesting to hear of any manufacturer that has made both where conversions could not work.
