For anyone who wants to know,
The compact takes the same mags as the CZ compacts and P01/PCR (Mecgar is now making 15 rounders with the AFC finish).
The full size takes the P09/P10F 19 round mags.

I’d like one in a single stack .45 ACP.
Not a 97 variant mind you.

They already make that...what you want is a 1911. The whole point of this thing is that it's a doublestack that competes with the 2011.

I really like the full-size DWX. I even like that it has a rail...I just wish it wasn't a full dust cover.

Well the "mind you" part implied seriousness. Still.....not sure though.

It has the biggest problem that I have with CZ/Dan Wesson: No Factory Optic Cut. I'm still probably going to buy one...

Folks, the grip is a whole lot different than a 1911, that’s my point and interest.

I have a 1911 and a 97, wishing the 97 was a tad thinner in several dimensions.

While I love 1911’s, I prefer the grip of the CZ and Browning HP.

Too late to get my business. Given there was no clue as to when these might actually become reality, if ever, I gave up and filled the role it would have served with something else.

ETA: I may have to retract that. If I decide to give action/competition pistol shooting a try, and if I find I like it, and if I decide I need something in major power: Since Staccato no longer makes a pistol in what somebody on a 1911 forum referred to as an "adult cartridge" , and the DWX allegedly will be available in .40 S&W, I may get one in that.

Let’s be honest, at this point these have to be AMAZING. They have been vapor ware for so long any I initial issues or QC problems will probably sink them.

IF the compact makes it out soon it will probably be purchased rather than a Staccato C. Mainly for the grip angle and inexpensive mags, of which I have a bunch.

Those of you who, like me, have been awaiting some movement on the DW DWX can probably forget about it. This was just posted to another gun forum (appears to be a screen cap of a FB post?):

Personally, I'm beginning to suspect it'll never happen Frown

Yep, posted to DW's Fuckbook page. Vaporware at its best.

Let's just hope the P210 Carry doesn't fall into the same category.

"Over the last year, we have come close to being able to ship the DWX multiple times, but each attempt has been met with obstacles and set-backs along the way”.

That just seems like an odd statement.

You had them all built and UPS ran out of boxes?

You had them almost built and that last part was just missing?

Our shipping department kept losing product?

We were printing shipping labels and our printer ran out of ink?

Our stagecoach with the strongbox was hit by Black Bart?

I don't have a CZ crossed with a 1911, but I love my CZ 1911.

More like, they did an early production run and during production validation testing they had mechanical failures. Then they investigated the cause of the failures, fixed the issue (perhaps poor quality purchased parts), and either upgraded the pistols already built, or did a new run, and had more failures during validation testing.

Getting new component suppliers up and running with new parts is not easy right now. Labor shortages, equipment procurement delays, etc.

I have one of those CZ 1911 A1's too. Best GI 1911 (with a few enhancements) for the money I've ever seen. Puts Colt's repros to shame.

Those were the nicest 1911s I ever seen for the money. I was hoping to read someone here got the DWX by now. If it has some bugs to still be worked out, thats better than shipping unreliable guns. Maybe in the future.
