BigSwedePimp guns acquired, wheel gun awesomeness
A buddy of mine called me yesterday about these, he passed on them but thought I might want them. He told me they were made by U.S Fire Arms MFG. Co. He suspected that the grips were Ivory. Very little to no info online.
USFA made these in the old Colt factory in Hartford, CT and they are now out of business
These are a consecutive numbered pair, USFA called them the "TR Plainsman" 7.5" barrel in 44-40 A reproduction of a Colt owned by Teddy Roosevelt. They are Silver and Gold plated with carved Ivory grips. I paid probably what the grips alone are worth.
I plan on getting some sort of display case for them, if anyone knows of a good source....
I found a link to an old catalog of theirs

oddballCongrats!
USAF made the best Colt SAA replica ever, and some would argue better than Colt. The ones made after serial number 22500 were 100% USAF, based mostly off the 1st Gen Colt design; those made earlier were built around a Uberti frame.
Beautiful guns. Again, congrats.

CPD SIGThat, my friend is NOWHERE NEAR a "pimp gun". Having arrested a few Pimps in my day, I know.
That pistol is a work of art.
Then again, I'm a sucker for professionally engraved guns

GT-40DOCCongrats on a beautiful pair of USFA SAA. I only own one USFA SAA that they made to my specs, and it is also a fantastic firearm with quality throughout. I am green with envy!!

drill sgtBeautiful rendation(?) of a classic... I am afraid I would not be able to have a pistol of such because I could not let it be a safe queen or a wall hanger in a shadow box because I would be so inclined to make sure to take them to the range and make sure that they were able to properly function as designed..... Congrats for the find. ....................... drill sgt.

sigfreundAlthough there are other people who would know for certain, I suspect the grips are made of some sort of false ivory, but they are still works of art.
I agree that US Firearms made some fantastic revolvers.

VictimNoMoreUSFA made great revolvers.
I’d sport those at every barbecue in the summer.

wolfe 21Very nice additions to any collection, especially at what sounds like fire sale pricing. Gold wouldn't have been my first choice, but it looks good here especially if they are clones of historical guns.
A Perpetual Disappointment...
