Off today, so I did a little gun shopping. Checked some of the usual haunts and pawn stores. A Sig P226 caught my eye - which they tend to do when they're priced under $600. I didn't buy it, but only because it was chambered in 40S&W, and I've learned that lesson. Had the traditional black frame with a rail. A lighter-colored, almost gray, slide. Hogue wrap-around grips, short extractor, typical dim Sig-lites. But the interesting part was a coat of arms with some Latin lasered on it just in front of the rear sight, on top of the slide. (Too small for my old eyes to read). And on the right front of the slide, also laser etched were the words "The Raiders of 11-12". Does that mean anything to anyone here? Being in .40, I kind of assumed a department gun from somewhere. I know it's not some rare jewel, I just wondered if anybody might know what the etched slogan was in relation to? Thanks.

Sounds like some sort of group engraving deal. MARSOC Raiders? Q

Possibly. I would think a military version or tribute would be in 9mm, but maybe not?
