It occurs to me you are being intentionally obtuse re: the circumstances surrounding your Colt Python. A number of members have attempted to assist you and perhaps become more informed consumers by learning from your unfortunate experience. Your obvious dismissal of the content in this thread leads me to speculate the issues you experienced with your revolver were the result of uninformed decisions made by you or your gunsmith.

Gunsmiths that are competent to work on Colt DA revolvers are very rare. I'm betting that your gunsmith isn't one of them, no matter how nice a guy you think he is.

Yup. Gun worked fine then you have a trigger job done and you get a light strike. We don't need Matlock for this one. Gunsmiths love light mainsprings because it is a magic "trigger job" right up until it won't light off the primer. I seriously hope he didn't "fix" the end shake. My guess is he put in the next heavier mainspring and called it a day.

He has worked on several guns for me including a Python which has a fantastic trigger pull. It’s easy to say he’s incompetent when he has done no work for you.

OK, so did you experience any light strikes before the trigger job? If not, I know wherein the problem lie. As long as we don't have some sort of emotional attachment to the idea that the gunsmith in question could ever possibly err. What say you, OP?

What's easier to believe is that your smith installed too light a mainspring and that's the end of it. He did a trigger job, you got light primer strikes, he installed a heavier mainspring and it went away. Where's the mystery here? As for him saying it was "end shake" on a new revolver, well, it's not the first time I've heard someone try to blame someone else for something they screwed up. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

It sure does seem that there is some confirmation bias at work here.
