A while back a company demo group came through. I shot a P226 Elite SAO and was dismayed to learn that it was discontinued in favor of the Legion. But I preferred its curved trigger and contoured plastic grips to the fashionable straight trigger and rough flat G10 grips of the Legion.

I have a 226 SAO legion and actually love it. I understand the classic sig love though. See if you can get your hands on a Sig 226 X5 SAO. Those are fantastic pistols.

Had the chance but bought my COONAN instead.

I was lucky enough to find a P226R SAO Elite on Gun Broker a few months ago. Couldn't be happier with it as a FULL SIZED CCW. Extremely accurate (as good as my Wilson Combat EDC), boringly dependable, and with an OEM 18 round magazine(s), it's a great choice for IWB when paired with something like the Milt Sparks "Versa Max II" or OWB using a TT Gunleather "Snap-detachable Pancake", as shown here. I hope you can find one of these rare gems. I'm glad I did!

I have a 226 SAO ELITE sir with two slides; one slide I have night sights fitted the other LPA adjustables for shooting steel.
