Couldn't find it in a search so... Has anyone ever removed the slide release button entirely on a sig? I've normally had the issue with my older sigs that I rest my thumb on them and they don't lock back on the last round. Well today shooting my new 320 RXP I had a new one. I had my thumb resting UNDER the button and I accidentally locked my slide open mid mag because I was pushing up on it. So what are my options here? There's no option anywhere for one that looks low-profile enough to take care of this. I have the low profile slide lever on my full size 320 and while it's better, my thumb still contacts it a lot. Can I get it professionally cut-down or bent down to be further our of the way? I also don't understand why the x-series grips, which are so much better than the standard grips, don't have the small raised ridges to help mitigate this issue like the standards do. I feel like that notch would help a LOT but I REALLY like the x-series grips and would rather cut off my slide release button than use the standard grip if that's an option. ________________________________________________

I think the X series has an extended slide release. Sig sells a low profile version: Low Profile Slide Release Also, not a direct answer to your question but have you tried resting your shooting thumb across the top of the base of your supporting thumb? I try to exaggerate the shooting thumb position away from the slide. That usually works for me. Here’s a sample web photo Thumb Position

Thanks, And yes I've tried that. I've been shooting thumbs forward for so long that it's ingrained into me. I just always revert back to thumb along the frame and it rests right on the slide release. ________________________________________________

I have the standard gen 2 slide catch on one of mine. Id trade if you wanted. If you wanted to keep your parts with your pistol you could always buy a 2nd slide catch and grind down the side giving you issue. Leave the other side for ease of breakdown and basic function. You'd have to slingshot vs dropping the slide but I feel you should always train with the slingshot method.
