I believe it has everything that has been mentioned so far?

Yes, but from memory, I believe that at least Federal, and maybe others, have redesigned their bullets since then.

When I took a dive into 147gr loads on YouTube a couple months ago it was mostly older vids.

One-day old trashing of Speer's new 147gr Border Patrol load:

I shot some Speer 147gr G2 the other day and that's some soft shooting stuff. Really surprised me. If soft shooting's what you're after, I'd try a little of that.

The two guns I carry the most are a Hellcat micro and a Staccato CS, they both LOVE Cor-Bon 115gr DPX (Barnes expanding mono bullet). They're not soft shooting.

(Accuracy wise the Staccato has been a huge disappointment to me, but the DPX load shoots great. To date it's the only one that does. I say disappointing because the Hellcat, with it small size and much cruder trigger, is a good deal more accurate with any and all loads I've tried. And that's pretty sad for what they cost.)

I wouldn't mind having a box of that for my 9mm ammunition collection, but based upon the performance in that video, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole for consideration of use.

For law enforcement use, it will probably give great penetration for cross-torso shots or shooting through automobile glass, but in terms of wound cavity creation, it looks like a dud.

Perhaps I'm missing something here. Perhaps the clear gel used in that test does not yield results equivalent to that seen in Fackler-type 10% gelatin, but I think the issue is something else. I can't recall hearing anything good about the G2 projectile or its factory loading.

I thought the same about the gelatin tests. Didn't he have more than 30" that the rounds passed through, and with no expansion or deviation of flight path? I wouldn't think a FMJ could make it that far, let alone a HP, no matter how poorly it performed.

All-in-all, though, it seems to be a bad round. I haven't looked at G2 rounds before, so didn't know about their similarly weak reputation.

If Federal brings back the 147gr +P, I'm in, but until then I'm sticking with the 124gr +P.
